Lovely serene music. Baldassare "Il Buranello" Galuppi was a famous musician, even Maestro di Capella at St Mark's and other prestigious positions; invited to London, St Peterburg. His work forgotten soon after his death in 1785, now being revived. I never heard of him so this is a real find. Thank You, BC.

It's amazing how many people are not familiar with " Il Buranero" as Baldassare Galuppi was called. I remember to have a vinyl copy of the harpsichord concertos. Good version!

Gallupi à son apogée plus célèbre que Vivaldi, dit-on. Depuis la redécouverte de Vivaldi (Vénitien comme l'autre) au XIXe siècle et sa reconnaissance au XXe, Gallupi lui, a rejoint en notre siècle l'ombre. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Venice produced some of the most incredible composers of the Baroque period. Sadly, most of them have been overshadowed by Vivaldi!

​​​@@lambert801I don't agree, there are many famous italian composers. Scarlatti, Corelli, Albinoni, the Marcello Brothers, Monteverdi, Pergolesi, just to name a few. It is not Vivaldis fault if people focus only on a few composers that are fed to them on a regular basis.

I've said for many years - Modern technology and I do not get along. However, without it so much previously unknown music, from all periods, would remain unknown. And recordings by 20th and 21st century performing groups and individuals would also likely remain unknown. I may not be able to work on cars from this century but at least this kind of technology for music more than makes up. Thanx.

Lively, stately, and expressive, as one might expect from Galuppi. The descriptions though leave much to be desired... This is not a diverse array of Baroque compositions. They are all from the same man. Then we get this blandness, "The journey continues with Concerto sesto in A Major, Concerto terzo in C Minor, and Concerto quarto in E-Flat Major, offering a captivating tapestry of sound." Might as well say nothing than offer up this generic dish. Do you really know so little of these works?
