Doing a wash day journal has helped me tremendously to learn about what my hair responds to as well as a place to record when I do what so if I want to try a new product or styling method I can reflect later on the results. Great video--- always enjoy your content- THANK YOU!

New sub!! I’m starting my curly hair journey after always straightening it, I noticed that at the top of my head ONE little hair started to curl up (3c) and the rest was just a little wavy. I know this is gonna be a process but I’m tired of not being able to deal with my hair. Sending love! ❤️❤️❤️

Omg your baby pics are adorable. So cute 🥰 I have wavy hair with ringlets on the bottom half. My hair was always so frizzy and tangled that I straightened it from when I was 18 to 45 years old. I stopped straightening it a year ago and have found these methods have helped enhance the waves/curls and reduce frizz/tangles. I’m still trying to love my natural texture but find I’m so often disappointed when I look in the mirror because it just looks messy and haphazard. Not straight and not curly. Im sure it will take time to love my hair for what it is seeing as I was obsessed with smooth hair for nearly 30 years.

i love this! i just followed you and i love your content already. its crazy how many people forget that hair is dead once it comes out of your scalp. Healthy hair is does not come from using excessive bonding treatment or even protein treatments. its such a misconception due to it gaining popularity in the social media and even marketing trends right now. starting my healthy curly hair journey next month!

How long did it take you to go from damaged hair to achieve your hair now? And were you straightening your hair everyday?
@sophiemariecurly10 ай бұрын
The timeline is something like this: 2019 realised how bad the damage was but still straightened (just slightly less) 2020: forced to stay at home 🏡 so decided it would be a good time to completely stop straightening. I stopped around June fully and made my page last day of July. By 2021 January my hair was visibly curly, but very damaged on the ends, my roots were really responding well though. I cut my hair myself in lockdown and experimented routines on my hair, then got my hair cut professionally may 2021. Since may 2021 I’ve been on a growth journey and generally learnt lessons on how to protect and generally look after my curls, and it has grown a lot in the last year 🥰

I may be in the minority but I actually enjoyed the process to healthy hair! Since puberty my straight turned into a frizzy mess so I would do a single dutch braid at night and let it out the next day. And then about 5 years ago I tried letting my air dry naturally with a curl cream and gel and hence my discovery of wavy hair. Then I decided to color my hair and the salon ended up frying my hair so I ended up cutting it to just below my color bone (my hair was touching my butt at this point) about a year later. But honestly my hair looked amazing in the shorter length and I had a few spirals. I'm still trying to grow out my hair to its original length and it's currently at my waist. But the journey is so much fun to play around with different products and textures. I found my fave lazy styling were heatless curls and waves or some braidouts. Braids are my go to for protective styling. I hate diffusing my hair but i will when I wear my hair wavy which is maybe 40% of the time. 50% of the time are heatless waves or product free hair and 10% I heat style for the fun of it.

I have wavy hair. When I was in high school I use to scrunch/style my hair everyday, however once I graduated and started working I started wearing my hair up and now i rarely wear my hair down and when I try to style my hair even when it's soaking wet it starts frizzing. I've tried tons of different hair products and shampoos/conditioners and my hair either gets weighed down and greasy or it gets really dry and frizzy. I don't ever straighten my hair or use heat styles on my hair and I dye my hair maybe once or twice a year. I've tried using a diffuser but it seemed to make my hair more frizzy (maybe I did it wrong idk) I'm just getting frustrated with my hair. Any tips?

im really struggling with this, this video was super helpful! my hair looks like yours when its wet at 11:17, but when it dries it gets all scraggly and the curls don't hold, some of them even end up looking like they have a random 90 degree bend in them and it looks really messy and weird. i have been using curl cream and gel, but my hair is fully bleached so it could be because of damage

i've been on my curl hair journey for a year now. My curls have gotten tighter, healthier. All I am having a problem with is the back of my hair. It's very flat and curless, might be because I do focus on it that much. Love the video though!!

I really wanna get my curls back, but everytime I do a routine my hair just has waves. I’ve been told by my hair stylist my hair is just heavy and I might need a haircut but I also put my hair in a braid instead of doing a routine since everytime I try, my hair looks like a mess and has lots of frizz. Any recommendations?

My hair is so much curly now that i treat it acording to my density and texture but i’m so frustated about the back hair that doesn’t curl at any way. I tried to finger coil that section of hair and then it lay straight, i do the denmann brush thing and also doesn’t curl. I feel when you straighten your hair and you left the back curly.

Hey, I saw in your videos that you colored your hair back to a dark color from a lighter (blondish) balayage because you didn't like the light color. I wanna ask if coloring your hair back to a dark shade also helped with the texture of your hair? I mean, did you like your hair was curling better after to put a dark color on it?

I'm going to try this, but i have a feeling I'm not going to get my curls back. When i was a toddler my hair was super curly, people thought my mum was curling or styling it for me, but she wasn't. Eventually i just lost my curls completely? Some of my hair is curly/wavy, but i genuinely don't want to get my hopes up with this video because things don't usually go well for me when it comes to my hair TvT

@ItzYourGurlSarah13 ай бұрын
I don't know much but I know washing your hair everyday is damaging in terms of drying it out and sometimes even striping it of natural oil and bacteria necessary for growth and health.

How can I get some fulness to my hair? And how can I can get a more curly root?
@LatinaBunny2110 ай бұрын
(Techniques depend on hair type/texture and thin/thickness, porosity, etc) For me, I try to be careful with leave-in/creams so to not weigh down my hair and use lightweight, but strong hold gels, and sometimes a mousse or hairspray for volume. I also flip my hair upside down and use a hair pick to help with the volume. Sometimes I shake my roots using my hands by rubbing my roots and shaking my head after. Swaying hair a bit while it’s damp during styling, or flipping it upside down during diffusing also helps with volume. Using less gel can make the hair have more volume as well, but it will have less definition. (You have to choose whether you want more definition or volume. Sometimes you have to sacrifice definition for that volume as hair “puffs up” more with less product.) Scrunching the dry hair after styling and air-drying/diffusing to break the gel cast can also help with volume (as the hair breaks out of the gel “shell” and can get a bit poofy). For the roots, if your hair struggles to curl all of the way, then while wet-styling, gently put in a dog clip/gator clip to lift the root and leave it there while the hair mostly dries and then take it off, so that the curl shape stays there. (Wet/damp hair is when you can initially shape the hair, and hair learns the shape. Gel or mousse helps with holding/keeping that shape.)

@lindakoberna346510 ай бұрын
There are a lot of videos on curl training. My hair got curlier the longer I started wearing it only curly. Or if you have time, finger coiling, curl rolling or even brush handle rolling will give you super curls. It's time consuming but once you start doing it a few times, it goes much faster. I can finger roll my entire head in 15 minutes and my hair is thick and course. But it guarantees me at least 7 days with maybe one small refresh.
@HappyHarshitaaa10 ай бұрын
@@lindakoberna3465 thanks alot! I have pretty long hair so was skeptical about doing finger coiling.

Diffusing also helps and you could try a Magnesium Sulfate spray. I use it once a while to get more volume and body. I have wavy 2c texture as well as 3a. If you have damage you might benefit from a protein rich product. For me this helped for the wavier parts. You could also try brush coiling. I have Not tried it myself tho. Gal has wavy hair has a lot of good tips. She has something between 2c and 3a also. I hope this is helpful.
