The most important thing Mr Smoke said in this video was that a good protection dog alerts (and in my opinion protects) the whole neighbourhood. When neighbours know you have a trained dog that doesnt make a commotion without a reason, all will be alerted if anything out of the ordinary happens and the dog is bringing the walls down.

Bring tha smoke is a great idea! As a guy from the Netherlands i love to see my favorite dog the Dutch shepherds. I own a dutchie (Vinnie) 3 y/o old KNPV trained. He lives indoors with my family and our other dogs. And it is not about the bread how you raise the dog it depends on the caracter of the dog how you raise him or her. It doesn't matter what bread it is the caracter shows you the road how you treat or train you're dog. So i love to see you bring the smoke as a trainer and decoy. Show the good people in the USA how you have to behave as a decoy, wich leache collar etc etc to use, tuned in to the dogs caracter. Here in the Netherlands we train al kind of breads in our clubs. Every dog gets the same training, the road you travel is caracter dependable.......SO bring the smoke!

I have a 2 yr old hybrid Rescue. Jasper is a Lab Dutch Shepherd Hybrid. His mom was pure breed. I have had 2 GSD before him so not familiar with his bred but let me tell you what an amazing animal. I love Jasper more than any other dog I have had the pleasure of owning. He is the smartest most loyal and protective dog. He continues to impress every day. I did not need to teach him to protect me. His instinct came natural and his ability to pick up on new commands and words I could only imagine what his skill level would be of he was trained. I wish I could add a picture to share. ❤Dutchshepard for life.

Love love love this episode!! I'm also a single mom of two with a large property and this is exactly why I want a dutchie. All the feedback I've had has been negative ("oh they're not for a single working mom", "you need to exercises them for hours per day", "not sure if a protection dutchie is for you" meaning a woman). I adopted my DS in March 2020, having never heard of the breed. I love her. Shesnso smatt and so funny and sweet. She came from a bad situation, so she's very submissive. Scared of new situations and people. I just clipped her nails for the first time by myself, without her running away.

Awesome video! This is a great series. It would be cool to include more info in this series, even if it’s brief. Like the breed’s origin, running speed, if it’s a sprinter or endurance dog, bite pressure, strengths/weaknesses, etc. It could be presented with cool stats graphics overlaying the video. I’m also curious about how people train non aggressive dogs to be protective, that could be a video by itself. Can some friendlier dogs like Border Collies or others learn to protect their owners and how is that done with their less aggressive personalities.
