Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

Years ago I worked bone marrow transplant in its early years. One patient was finally able to discharge. I walked her out and watched her leave with her husband. I stopped in the bathroom and had a good cry.

Thanks for asking for prayer Mary. We will pray. Inasmuch as The Frey Life has been a business for you, vlogging truly is bringing encouragement, comfort, and a sense of the Hope that lives within you and Peter. To the extent that God allows, what a joy it is to follow you in The Frey Life journey. Blessings!

As a former foster family member, I understand the many aspects and emotions involved. We had many children pass through our family’s home. Our family was blessed to be able to add to our family with foster to adopt. It truly is a journey of blessings and heartache. But so worth it all to provide children a safe loving home for however long is needed. Prayers for you all.

My hubby and I just came off of a 10 month stint of being foster parents for a sibling set of a 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy. It was very tough as we battled significant mental health concerns for the 6 year old and significant physical issues for the 3 year old all having to be addressed by us as this was their first removal from their home. I could not agree more with your statement about brokenness and sorrow and loss. Brokenness made beautiful indeed. Tons of emotional struggles absolutely happened! It’s truly a lot! The kids are now reunited with one parent and we are thankful but sad too as that may be all we ever hear about those kiddos due to privacy reasons. I am so happy you guys are walking this path that the Lord has orchestrated and I’m praying for you too!

I love the prospective you put on foster care and adoption. So true that there is joy and sadness. We fostered 2 girls from ages 6 and 7 until we adopted them at 9 and 10. Today they are 12 and 13 and they have brought us immense joy. I read a quote once that has stuck with me over the years. "A child born to another woman calls me mommy. The magnitude of that tragedy and the depth of that privilege are not lost on me." I will forever be grateful to the woman who brought our 2 daughters into this world. No matter the circumstances they are the beauty that came from it.

I was blessed with a third set of grandparents and they weren’t biological family. They were my dads foster parents when his parents weren’t the best. They had an u told number of foster children in their home. All of their foster kids got to experience a love and teachings like no other. Grandpa Bill taught us kids so much about carpentry, cars and life that there’s no way any of us could’ve ever relayed him. And grandma Diane loved us all fiercely and took time to teach us about cooking and the Bible. They’re no longer with us on earth but they’re with us in our hearts and in our memories. And for that I’m forever thankful.

I was a foster kid (12-18) and I'm so thankful for foster families who care for (may or may not be) medically fragile children. I'm disabled and even though my medical needs are well controlled and non life threatening I was unable to find a foster home for my needs, so I spent my time bouncing between group homes. It's a desperately needed area of fostering to help with and I'm so thankful that you guys have made a place in your lives for it - and from what it sounds like supporting the bio family instead of the typical ''foster to adopt'' where the foster family are hoping to keep the child and not supporting reunification how they should. Thank you, prayers to the bio family and the baby that their story has a happy ending where they can be together.

Praying for the foster baby's birth family.. for their family.. that there will be a successful reunion, but also Mary and Peter's heart as they take this journey. oh Lord, This is such a wonderful, joyous that Mary and Peter journey that have chosen to provide a stable and loving home to this child. I pray for the birth family and I ask that you protect them, that they can be a successful reunion with their son. They won't miss too many of his milestones. I pray for their heart, that whatever the situation is, that you give them a place of peace, break down the walls of their hearts and really come to know you and bond with that child.
