Just found this series and really enjoying watching. Love in depth/realistic mining videos over the eye catching "Look what we found in this mine!!" videos. I hope y'all end up doing some timelapse recordings of your work. I'd love to see some of that, on the mucking, mining, or cribbing process(es) rather than the jump cuts from "this is what we're doing" to "we're done".

1:59 - gawd, I am a sucker for lagging. Timbers set up like that are seriously one of my favorite things to see in a mine. 4:07 & 4:32 - what on earth are those white splotches on the middle right of the screen? That spring!! That has got to be one of the neatest natural things I've seen in any of the videos. Just too cool!

You need a 4K camera for the videos if you want to compete with Abandoned Mines and Forgotten Places. Seriously, I want both YT sites to do well because I enjoy the mines explores. You have a great nitch with bringing an old mine back to life.

I'm not trying to compete with anyone... I wish Gly all the best. And I'm working right alongside the other miners. So, I am not able to take a good camera back there. That's why I'm using my phone for this series. If I'm exploring an abandoned mine, I use my better camera and stabilizer. In this mine, the camera and filming are usually secondary to the work being done.

Really enjoy your channel...a great fan...Interesting to see you put all of your experiences to use in getting your own mine up and running. From my point of observation it seems to me, with all of the many mines that you have explored that you could have chosen a better mine to work...so much muck and debrris to clear out. Here you will always have to contend with all that constant running water, rot, mud, runoff and dampness...tough and challenging working conditions. Also I haven't seen yet of any prospects of potential payback veins or lodes. What is your assessment of the payback and the timing of making any monies?

The water is a constant in underground mines that run below the water table... It's a slight annoyance, but that's all.

Small world... I actually know this part of the mine. Stay safe guys and enjoy the work.

@@TVRExploring It's been a long time and did not work it, was consulted in a professional way on it. Somewhere around here I have a couple of polished samples given to me back then.

Take that skateboard and go hit the halfpipe lol Your escape route needs hella work but will be awsome when done. Do you guys have assay maps or charts? Bottle that spring water for cash!

It actually shouldn't be too bad unless it is in bad shape higher up... We need to muck out that bottom area and put ladders in, but the rock seemed pretty solid. Yes, we have maps and charts.

@@TVRExploring manways are not to difficult to build if you have good lumber. When installed a manway and ladders we must have used hundreds of wedges, timbering was as fun as blasting to me.

All of the water seems to be running down hill and out... was it common to run the main shaft in and uphill?

Yes, one degree raise as you drift,for that reason and when pushing loaded ore car out it glides down hill slightly! Those old timers had a lot of physics figured out.

Loving this series. I’m hoping for double digits. Would you guys consider stoping the area at 1660 ft Would it be easier
@TVRExploring
@TVRExploring 3 жыл бұрын
The area above the 1660 has already been extensively stoped. Supposedly, one of the stopes runs up to the second level. We're thinking about driving a new drift around the 1660 since it is so bad.
