Black Clydes have become very rare! There's a documentary out there about a Scottish lady searching everywhere to find breeding stock to preserve the black line of Clydesdales. She had to get some from western Canada and somewhere in the States, to bring them home to Scotland! Good luck rehabbing this poor girl!

My mare's sire was a black clyde. Fun fact the entire black clyde bloodline comes from Canada as it went extinct back in the UK due to being bred out into bays. Watch "Saving the Greatest Horse" a documentary on bringing black cyldes back to Scotland. They are extremely rare and precious to the Clydesdale breed

Pony Tales Horse Rescue took in a large draft cross mare named Envy. She had canker in a rear foot. The vet said it was a bad case and seemed pessimistic about it even with surgery. Cindy and Nate went ahead with surgery and daily treatments for the mare and got an excellent result. She is now Nate’s riding horse. Cindy and Nate probably have a tremendous amount of info they could share with you. Again, they got an excellent result with surgery and daily treatment.

​@@brendajones347 I was also directed to a different Chanell because of my interest in Homestead Hormanship. It's called Fletcher Farms Amarillo. They have been paying bail fees to pull Belgian workhorses out of the kill pens at Bowie Texas. They've rescued 15 to 20 Broken Belgian horses with some serious arthritis and coffin bone and pastern problems. Saved one Mare with one eye lost to cancer and the 2nd eyes prognosis was not good. Great channel but more along the lines of giving these majestic animals a home to live out the remaining days in comfort.

My grandfather treated Canker with Epsom salt soaks and socks, and painted with copper. He changed the Epsom Salt Socks twice a day. The Stall was kept dry

Am going to the annual foal show at Lanark Market next week, there's usually a good turnout for that and it's interesting to see where they go to. Made me think of my older gent he had deep painful Central sulcus thrush and I tried every product imaginable finally landed on dr.naylor hoof n heel and pure sole hoof clay, his feet are no longer squishy, stinky, or in pain and the deepest parts have finally healed and his frog is almost completely back to normal, I’m so glad to not be scooping out the black goo and he’s thrush free the stuff worked super quick, quicker than the common stuff that stains the horses hoof

be so so careful with canker! i watched a welsh D stallion go though it and he was in agony. he was put down in the end. the bacteria litterally eats the hoof away. im no expert but really listen to what the vets say it can be touch and go. good luck

I had some of the cauliflower thrush look on a gelding's hoof I bought. I don't think it was canker, not sure. But I cleared it up with tea tree oil and distilled water.
