Arnie is wonderful! 😍 I havent gotten to watch your other videos, so i don't know if you know this already but i have some advice: there are special bowls, especially for water for dogs with longer ears, they fit the same amount of water but they're narrower on the top so the ears don't get wet, which is really helpful since they are so sensitive. Also for food bowls in my experience a slow feeder is really helpful to help manage their eating speed to prevent stomach issues and help with overeating, since cockers are prone to becoming overweight. Since they have to work to get the food out and think about it it also stimulates their brain and keeps it busy quite nicely. Hope this helps you or any new puppy owner here🥰
@CharlotteJordan873 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this advice I really appreciate it. I haven’t seen these bowls so will definitely be looking into them now as his ears are only getting bigger 😆

This is the first video I have seen, and seen a few, where you as the new owners are totally focused on your puppies needs, welfare and his happiness, so many new owners produce video's where they do not have a clue, and do not understand the stresses of separation anxiety distress, whereas you guys are amazing! Absolute pleasure 👍

Hi everyone, how did you juggle work and having a cocker spaniel? My partner and I are looking to get a little pup but we both work and I read that they have separation anxiety. Any advice would be great!
@martinwagner73613 жыл бұрын
@@cydniewilliamson In case you work during same hours so that he would be forced to be 10hs every day alone that certainly isn't ideal and I wouldn't recommend it. If you have Kids in an age that they can handle a dog responsibly that would be very different obviously but leaving any dog for such an amount of time alone isn't really good but for Cocker it's especially hard because they are typical family dogs that very well fit with Kids and really need a lot of affection and interaction. I think it's possible to keep a Cocker that way but would it really be good for the dog ? And yes, it may well happen that they feel so abandoned/ left alone in these hours that they will cry out almost the entire time in a most heart breaking way, our Cocker did that in the beginning already after a few minutes being alone and it wasn't a big problem - but only because he hardly was ever longer alone than a few minutes in our family..... So I would recommend to postpone buying a Cocker now until your living conditions have changed so that he doesn't have to endure such long daily times of loneliness and abandonment- because that's how it will feel for him.... I'm sure that it otherwise would be as well painful for you to watch him and to know how much he's missing you and is scared you may not come back. Basically you have to treat a puppy like a human baby - would you feel comfortable to leave your baby alone for 10h every work day ? I guess not. May be some changes will make it possible for you in the future, better wait till you can attend to a dogs/ puppy's needs in a better way, wish you the very best in that......🤗👋

He is so cute! Congrats on your new family member. A bit of unsolicited advice but you’re apparently meant to only say the command once (ie. ‘sit’ here) then reward as soon as they do it with a cur word like ‘yes’ for example. If they don’t do it then you wait until they do then reward them before praising. Sorry for interjecting as everyone trains their puppy differently and has different ideas but just thought I’d let you know in case it helps - from one cocker spaniel pup mum-to-be (in only 12 hours time eek!) to another. Best of luck with him in his new home, he seems so loved♥️

Sweet puppy :) Mine is 5 months old and he was also easy with the crate. But i want to give you an advice from different trainer and behavior specialits. Try to not move the crate, as he will be more comfortable knowing that no one can touch it, that it is only his place... You can leave it in the bedroom with you, there is no issue about it. You can have a pillow in the living, where he will be relaxed as well during the day. We leave the crate door open during night, because when they are puppy they cannot yet adapt their body temperature. So sometimes they look for colder place to lie down and sleep. I have camera at home in the living, and he sleeps there. We close all doors so he cannot come up the stairs. But during night at least twice he leave the crate to go lie on the floor then he goes back... They are a lovely breed, good luck :)

This means that Dog's make better and happier people. 😂. The reverse of the word DOG is GOD. This means that you welcome God into your life think about it 🤔. Dog's are the best gift from God to mankind. Good luck with him and have a great life together.
