He’s adorable - just remember as your a lover of diffusers, oils and candles - dogs are allergic to a lot of essential oils - be very careful what you use going forward and not leave them on the fireplace or floors. Also your going to need to take a look in your beautiful garden as dogs can be allergic to lots of plants too.

He is absolutely gorgeous. I don't know about adaptil for puppies, but our 8 year old staffy cross hates fireworks. Without the adaptil she shakes, hyperventilates, panics and won't stay still, with them she will sit with us quietly. Good luck with Barney, a dog makes your life whole!

The Kong is also great for their mouth if you fill it with peanut butter and freeze it, not only will it keep him occupied while your busy cleaning or popping out when he's abit older to say peg the washing out etc because it takes ages to 1 get the stuff out and 2 especially since it's frozen, I froze carrots for mine aswel for his gums xx

Freya, be careful with the squeakers. Puppies can rip out and choke. Not trying to be scary but it is a risk thing. I am a super overprotective dog mom. I am 71 and have a dog since first grade. I have a chubby pug girl now 10+. He is so beautiful. I am so excited for you.

Congrats on your baby boy! 🐶 My Lab when he was Barney's age chewed a wooden stool leg, corner of a Welsh dresser and the staircase ....the tooth marks are still visible till today. He'll be 13 in 3 weeks. I particularly liked the luxury throw and the doggy coat.

He is adorable 😍😍 and you are so well prepared. I have a girl golden retriever named Luna who is almost two. I've always had dogs but she was my first golden and the hair was a massive shock 😂 I know this sounds dramatic but I would really recommend buying a pet specific robot hover and a Kong zoom groom brush so that you can give him a quick brush daily (outside!) during summer and weekly during the winter without making him sore/sensitive with a deshedding brush/rake. I was given this suggestion by a golden owner in a pet shop when Luna was a pup and thought it was a bit OTT at the time but they were the best dog related purchases I've made! I was also very concerned about beds for Luna because of her size and joints etc. Her beds always seemed to get thin and flatten out after a few weeks so I bought a piece of orthopaedic seating foam and stuffed a dog bed I already had and it has lasted over a year already without flattening 👌

eeeew how exciting! Definitely a variety of different toy types to keep them entertained and chewing on what they should be! also his favourite have always been the big ikea soft toys so definitely one of them! puppy kong and lick-e-mat are a good distraction, otherwise some kibble treats in an empty water bottle with no lid for him to try and get them out was a cheap alternative!

Did you know that zoflora disinfectant has a pet one which l have seen in poundland, but we get ours from Amazon UK as we receive 6 bottles on subscription and makes your house smell brilliant for a longer period then any other we have tried. We put it in the floor steamer or mop bucket. I really do recommend. Thank you for your blogs and vlogs.

Just saw you show the hot water bottle and, whilst totally understand and agree with the principle, what happens when the hot water bottle cools during the night - especially with the winter weather we are currently having - and the bottle goes cold. That won't be comfortable for him or warm him and the night is long. Just a thought / concern.

sweep often !!!!! my hair is everywhere as well and my puppy is always licking the floor and eats up some hair causing constipation and pain when he needs to use the bathroom because his 💩 gets stuck to the hair. there’s really not much you can do about that but it gets better with age at least my dog has so just be careful!!

About having hair everywhere...I had 2 long haired cats and I had to have rollers all around the house and in my car. Also I made sure to brush them every day and that cut down on the shedding. Plus when you start early brushing every day and trimming their nails, they get used to it and let you brush them and trim their nails. Yup I used to trim my cats nails and they always let me with no problem ❤💚💜💙💛

Good for you Freya doing your homework on your breed before getting Barney. Well done! You'd be surprised how many people get dogs just for their cuteness, but don't do the homework on the breed. Just a tip - be very careful when using strong fragrances around him because our vet told us it's toxic to dogs since their sense of smell is much more sensitive than humans so using too much perfumed cleaning products at floor level is not good for them. We clean our floors and baseboards with just warm water, a little dish liquid, and white vinegar. We use Fabreze fabric or any air fresheners & candles to a minimum and try to avoid putting any plug in scents close to the floor (only put them on higher wall plugs like in the kitchen or bathrooms.) Also avoid giving him any kind of rawhide or chew things like bully sticks/pig ears as they are not digestible & can actually cause blockage in their gut! Have no idea why companies even make them for dogs to be honest. Barney is just the cutest and so happy for you & Tom on your new fur baby! Sending love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊❤❄

Don’t know if this has been said , but when he’s in the car he needs secured (against the law for you to be driving about if he’s just got free run I think) but you can buy dog car leads that either clip into the seatbelt bit or you can buy ones that goes over the head rest , always put him in a harness when he’s going in the car too and strap the seatbelt lead to the back for if the worst should happen and it’s on the collar you can only imagine the devastation. X P.s your pups adorable and I wish you good luck 💕

Omg your doggo is so cute but, I just wanted to say that his crate I too bid as you only want him to be able to turn stand sit and lie don so that he doesn't have an accident in his create. This works because pups and dogs don't go toilet where they sleep. as creates can be expensive you should get a divider for that one and hen you can size it according to your dogs size. This is not hate by the way I love your vids as well. ❤🐶🐕🐕‍🦺🐩
