I'm doing this Mod on my 68 Cougar. Please clarify the size of the exhaust adapter used. In your latest steering video you used a 2 x 1-3/4. On your prior video you listed across the screen 2 x 1-1/2 adapter ???? Thanks!

Why didn’t you go with a 68 gearbox and rag joint?

Hey there! The Versa shaft was perfect length and it has a double D already. Could easily modify it or another shaft to work on late 67-70 rag joint though.

Is a controller required for the Nissan steering unit?

No it works in fail safe mode. The Versa controller just needs 3 connections (ground, positive battery, and ignition). That will put it in fail safe mode and operates great. I’ve got one in my 68 FB now and it’s worked great howbeit it’s connected to a manual rack and pinion.
