Maybe what could help speeding up the character animation and clothing production is how Hades approached it, or at least similar. Like creating a base 3D Model and the important keyframes with it, then draw over the clothes etc. Nontheless very good looking game, looking forward to more progress!

I don't know how exactly Hades did it but that's how ufotable does character animation too and it looks really smooth.

From one animator to another, that’s a helluva walk cycle! I mainly do 3D shaded to look 2D cuz I don’t have the patience to draw on model but I love the look of hand-drawn animation

i’m definitely gonna buy this game when it comes out. I LOOOVE what you’re planning to do with the dialogue! it gets boring when characters greet you with the same line or when they get predictable. I don't know if i have seen this on Steam but definitely going to take a look. It is the tiny details that add the polish or quality of life that enhance enjoyment. While not necessary, it is always a joy when they are added. It shows the game developer cares.

The manual style of implementing art is going to make this game beautiful and responsive, but it's also going to make the storage requirement huge. Perhaps you could find ways to reuse assets and implement features that allow your code to alter how they look or behave.

I would make the day night cycle more noticeable like turning off interior lights during day, and changing the color pallet between day and night. This will make it pop more. Also, let users hover over things to see if they are clickable. There are many techniques on this you can research. Overall this is very impressive and I like the art style a lot!

This game is going to be fantastic. I'm very excited for it, and it is very inspiring. Usually my favorite thing about these kinds of games is being able to romance the townsfolk. I also love character customization and home decorating in games. That said, even if this game had none of those features, I would definitely still play and enjoy it!
