You know, you don’t need an Instagram boyfriend when your DJI air 2s gets better angles, with less complaints. Want to take your DJI Mavic drone to Europe? Follow these steps set out by EU Regulation (EU) 2019/947 to register your drone with the EASA and get a Remote Pilot Competency certificate.

Just wanted to give the heads up that you can take the certification course through Luxembourg for free. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a UAS operator registration in Italy without a tax ID so off to figure that part out.... :(

Hi! very informative video. Quick question, the process to get the authorization to use the drone in Cyprus and Greece was it difficult? how long it took you to have it? I'm leaving next week to these countries. Thank you for your help!

Use cyprus! The cheaper option and registering it took 20 minutes. The easa certificate can also be obtained with cyprus, but it’s like the faa part 107 test so give yourself some time to study! Hope you have a great trip!

@@wordwizeworld Thank you for the information! Have two questions: once you arrive to the airport of Cyprus or Greece, did they ask you for the certificate? second question: as soon as you began to fly with your drone, someone ask you for the registration paper? Thank you!

@@nikolasr1 sorry, just seeing this! I was never asked for registration but wanted to be safe, especially as I was commercially filming. Did anyone stop you while you were there?

Just wanted to ask about the mini 3, i am from the uk and have a drones pilot license and a valid operator id, when going to greece do i really need to apply for permission to fly in the safe zones or can i just take it with what i have now? the drone is under 250g.

You need an EU drone licence and complete the pilot competancy. You also then have to request permission for every flight.

@@armadillomaster I completed an online exam from the EASA website but I did it for Luxembourg and they sent me a digital certificate. I also got a response from Greece and they gave me a registration card. Is this ok?

When you were drone flying in Greece, did you experience being stopped or checked by the authorities? How helpful was the certificate throughout the trip?

Hi, very informative video; it has helped me immensely. Few questions if you don't mind: 1. Do I need to have a permission for every flight that I plan? I have DJI Mavic air (430gm) with recreational purposes. 2. I just got the registration via Cuprus (Thanks so much for suggesting). Should I just paste a sticker on the drone with registration number? 3. Do I absolutely need the competency certificate? It seems a bit of time commitment. 4. Were you stopped/questioned at the border or when you were flying? Thanks in advance!

Hey! Glad you got a lot of info out of this! So 1) no -- just in restricted zones labeled on the map. I did not have to get permission for any of my flights because they were not in those zones. 2) I wrote my registration with a sharpie lol, but a sticker would look more professional. You just need it on a visible part of the body. 3) If you are planning to shoot anything commercially you need it. I would definitely get it in case. 4) I was never stopped, but always had all my certification/registration easily available in case! Hope you enjoy flying!!

@@wordwizeworld Thank you so much! very helpful. I will def get my certification with the Cyprus site you recommended. So, two more Qs: 1. registration and certification are the only two things you need in order to fly recreationally? 2. Did anybody ask you anything about the drone at the airport during scanning or otherwise? thanks so much again! extremely helpful

@@nbhardwaj in the case for Greece you also need to fill out a flight Authorization form, and have liability insurance...I have all that just in case( Operator Registration, A1/A3 Certification and insurance as well as the flight Authorization approvals for Greece, just in case, but I doubt anyone will even come asking for any of that...that is my bet...I flew last year in Greece everywhere and no authorities came asking me for anything at all...maybe this year will be different, I don't know....
