Sooo funny Matt recently said Jesse more 'overthinks things' whereas he (Matt) is more of a 'risk taker'. And time after time, over & over we see that it is Jesse who jumps the horse, Jesse who steps forward & takes chances when Matt is much more cautious, conservative & careful. U never see Matt with dirty hands, bruises, cuts, scrapes or rumpled clothes. It is always Jesse who takes the challenges of life! Doesn't matter anyway, I love both of them equally!!! ❤❤❤

I think that was more about big life decisions. Matt did move to the other side of the world at a really young age. Maybe jesse is a bit more laid back overall in life but matt does what he wants when he wants.

I'ld like to see you do more trail rides because, in my opinion, it's better for the horses. When I grew up you worked on foundational stuff in the arena but then spent most of the time on trail rides. After watching lots of trainers, I feel that people are missing out on giving horses the opportunity to still be horses together on a trail. I realize that you might feel that riding in a large group of 15+ wouldn't work with stallions along, but how do you ever teach them to behave around mares and geldings? We gave stallions the space they needed and didn't take mares in heat, but other than that we didn't make a lot of concessions. (Of course the trails were on the 600 acre ranch where we were and we didn't have to trailer often). Young horses were ponied (with and without riders) to learn to behave and see how adult horses behaved. I think it was a much better way to live with horses. And yes, grab a couple of Go Pros and attach them to your helmets and go on loooong rides. Have a picnic and make it an all day thing.

Matt, In the Netherlands we have one native venomous snake; The Adder (Vipera berus) is found in the Veluwe. You don't have to be afraid of them, you won't easily encounter them on open paths and they will flee away due to the vibrations of your horse's hooves. Nice ride!

The Netherlands are very beautiful and this region is really fantastic. The ride with Jesse, Etro and Chase was great fun for both riders and horses and Matt is keen to do it again. EVERYONE WAS SO HAPPY!!!!!! Human and Horses. They loved it. Chase took the jump really well,,,, then was scared of that big old scary log. 😂😂😂. I had so much fun watching it all!!!!!!! When I had my very first horse I would ride to the park from my home, pack a lunch and be gone most of the day. He would do that little trot all the way home. I miss those days , but have many fond memories. Make memories!!!!💕💖💕💖

Agree! Jesse is a natural horse rider; you can see when Chase spooked and in his seat position when jumping. He instinctively is always in the correct position when riding.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this trail ride. It was so amazing watching both of you and the horses enjoying your day. Until I was in third grade I had my own ponies that I was learning horsemanship on. When my parents divorced, I lost my pony Ginger, as my mom took me from my home to another state. I’ve never gotten over that loss and throughout my adult life so far, I haven’t had the opportunity to own a horse. I now have a degenerative neurological disease called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and have lost the muscle required for riding. Your video let me go with you as if was riding again and I cannot tell you how much this means to me. I cried happy tears .

I was blessed to have a love of horses with my dad and my sister. We would all trail ride together in the mountains of Oregon USA. My dad has passed now and those are some of my favorite memories. I have to say our horses weren't as fancy turned out as yours but we still enjoyed our ride😊😊

Lovely place to ride; I bet it smelled great, too! I spent so much of my youth trail riding, but always bareback, such a pleasure to spend time in the woods with a horse. Jesse's tiny spook episode when Chase saw the log and thought "Wolf!" was a great example of how the best horses can still be unpredictable and one has to stay aware, to keep themselves and their horse safe in those situations. You two are a blessing and a joy to watch. More trail ride videos, please.

Many years ago I rode my horse with friends. We met up and rode 3/4 mile to a highway. As we stood on the shoulder, the cars stopped and we crossed. Then we went a short way to a National Forest, Most of Michigan was lumbered off, the weak sandy soil was not good for agriculture, and a secondary forest grew back. We rode to a tree and put our coats on the branches and the rest was up hills and down. Stop at a creek for a drink. It was heaven. Years later my daughter was in Los Angeles having dinner with friends. There was some popular song that was about a fox barking. My daughter asked: have you heard a fox bark? I said yes, they bark at their babied when you are near. I say a shout to my dad who told me about the woods and how to appreciate it.
