NOTE FROM TED: Research discussed in this talk remains an ongoing field of study. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t...
Neuroscience technology has long been locked away in research laboratories and in the basements of hospitals. However, recent technological advances have changed this. For instance, it is now possible to measure someone's brain waves with an electroencephalographic system built into a pair of glasses. By combining mathematical analysis with this new technology, Dr. Olav Krigolson has been able to take on a range of projects where he has gone out into the real world to take a peek at what’s going on inside peoples' brains.
Dr. Olav E. Krigolson is one of the world’s top neuroscientists in the field of mobile EEG and recently led a Canadian team on a mission in the HISEAS Mars Habitat. His research uses leading-edge technology to solve real world problems and has been featured on the Discovery Channel and CBC’s Quirks and Quarks. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

What a fantastic talk. In less than 10 minutes I went to space, eat freeze dried food, had a mini shower and learned about chronic fatigue, ty Dr Olav.

I guess we all know when we are tired, but we often just brush it off. Having a means to physically test how tired you are would really make so many of us stop and address our needs.

Yes, please! If we could start normalizing dialogue about our brains that would be fantastic. I'm so sick of it being reserved for conversations about neuro-divergence - even though that's important too - but our brains are so amazing! We should be talking and wondering about them so much more
