Yes, for me, I’d love to see more hoof restoration videos. I don’t usually watch shorts, I’d much rather see the whole procedure.

Like a talented sculptor, you see the correct shape under all the extra growth, and carefully trim each hoof to be the most comfortable for the horse. Your photographer does a great job, capturing the process to show and tell the story of that particular trim. Well done!

this is such an incredible and underappreciated set of skills. i grew up with horses and the amount of backbreaking hard work and skill required is just awe inspiring in an ever-softening society

Yes, yes!...MANY MORE! I love it. What was that pink, white and blue compound you mixed and applied to the hoof before you shoed it? And why do you not FULLY trim and clean out the frog, especially the central and collateral grooves? I've noticed that you don't always trim and clean out the groves very well. Is there a professional, anatomical reason you don't, or is it because it that part of the hoof just doesn't require it?

Farriers restoring a horse's hoof is like a person restoring a rusted-out car, they bring something back from the "dead".

Whilst I like watching these videos, I sometimes want to know more about what goes on in them. For instance, I recognise the blue crystals you put on the paste as copper sulfate- what is it used for? And the pink paste, clearly a two-part product: does it have any other purpose or medical effect, other than holding the copper sulfate in place? Perhaps a few lines in the description explaining such things would do it- text or talk in the video itself is distracting, and not everyone might want sych detail!

Aye, I was wondering what that was about as well. Based on the condition of the hoof and the apparent age of the horse, I'd guess that it's something to help maintain the strength of the hoof, but it'd be nice to know for sure.

The farrier we had hardly spoke at all. He laughed, but anything more than one word answers was unusual.🤷🏻‍♀️ He just did excellent work. Asking him what he was doing almost seemed rude, so I didn’t. I would like to know what you’re doing and why….really I would.

Try S&S Horseshoeing and Idaho Horseshoeing School. Both explain the process but in different aspects because Sheldon (S&S) is a vet so he explains the conditions and issues better while the guy (sorry can't recall his name) from Idaho Horseshoeing School explains the process better and has more videos on various issues regarding hoofs.

What's with the chalky sole? Is this due to the synthetic pad from previus hoof restoration ? I ve read this due to yeasts growth. It looks very healthy deep to these changes. M D ,,Great filming,, lighting ,,excellent skills ,,and beautiful outcome . MY FARRIER!

you shoe all your horses so tight, every hoof is long and tight, and take away waaay to much frog! so the frog has no contact with the ground whenever whatsoever. Every shoe is "grinder fit".

좋아요 2000객 이상 나오길 바랍니다. 그곳도 자연스럽게 헌편자를 다시 사용 하는군요. 한국은 말 주인들이 싫어 해서, 저는 매번 새것으로 해 주고 있습니다. I hope to get more than 2000 likes. They also naturally use old horseshoes again. In Korea, horse owners don't like it, so I give them new ones every time.

Blocking all interaction with the ground so the horse won’t show he’s sore. The frog is supposed to intersect with the ground and acts like a pump evacuating and drawing in new blood. Also your creating a hospitable environment for bacteria that thrives in non arid environments like WLD by never taking off the pads
