My son did the same thing in the hospital and at home...I thought he was chocking at first, then came the throwing up....we went through a lot trying to figure out what the problem was. The doctors kept saying "oh that's normal" but I KNEW it wasn't!!! and I didn't stop until I found out what the problem was. Well, after many hospital visits (because it kept getting worse) and doctors visits and calls, we finally got a diagnosis. It was a bad case of acid reflux. He was on medication for a while, about 3 months! but I'm glad to say as his digestive system matured, it did get better. This may not be the case for Charlie, but its always good to look into things more!

My son had acid reflux and still does at almost a year old. We had to burp him every ounce he drank and sit him up while feeding him and for 30 mins after he ate and it really helped also when a Dr says it's ok gripe water saved our lives.

If you decide to bottle feed I think dr.brown bottles or anti colic ones may help. My first was a terrible feeder so we had to choose a gentle formula and used dr.browns bottles and all was well. Congrats on the littlest family member!

We had spit up and reflux issues with both our daughters and it’s definitely not fun but totally manageable. We used dr.browns bottles and had them sleep inclined. We used a rock and play and it was a lifesaver! My oldest however had really terrible reflux and ended up being referred to a GI. We were prescribed meds but what seems to help the most was thickened feeds. I know he’s still a newborn so definitely take your time :) so babies are just “happy spitters” and others no so much. :/

My son had what is called pyloric stenosis which they thought was reflux. He would projectile vomit after every feeding around 3 weeks old but I think it can start sooner than that but he had to have surgery at 5 weeks to correct it.

My baby was born the 25th. And she was 6 pound 7 ounces at birth and when we left hospital she was 5 pounds 14 ounces and she only would nurse for about 10 min also so I started to pump a little and she would patch better. So she nurses and also eats milk from the bottle it has helped a lot. I hope things get better for u.

If he is spitting up most of his feed there is a condition called pyloric stenosis. Just something to look into if it is really bad.

He may have acid reflux from what you’re saying.My girl used to projectile vomit after every feed even burping regularly and after no help from the health visitor me&my mum tried loads of formula ended up on a soya milk and she got on so good with it.How are you feeling?

I love how genuine your videos are. Not so sugar coated like most. It shows real life situations, which is so relatable. I’m 30 weeks pregnant with our second and I won’t be breastfeeding this time either, and it’s nice to see someone else who is upfront about it as well. We have to do what’s best for our families and what works, even if it isn’t always the “popular” choice. Every video of yours, I just get more and more hooked. All 4 of mine spit up. 3 of them they call happy spitters. They always had to have bibs on I had to use blankets to burp them. It was a lot! They were happy, gaining weight and making diaper count so it wasn’t a problem. Just more annoying. One of them had to be put on Zantac because she screamed every time she spit up. My first 2 were formula fed after a few weeks. And I tried all kinds of formula. Nothing helped. Number 3 was my Zantac baby and she was breastfed for almost 2 years. My last baby is 3 months and still ebf. I think the spitting stopped around 6 to 9 months.

Sounds like Charlie may have some reflux. Obviously talk to his pediatrician because I know there are special formula's for that, but if he's able to keep things down if you burp him throughout feeding then I wouldn't be overly concerned. Also you may want to try holding him slightly more up than you typically may for feeding a newborn. Good luck with his feedings, I hope you're doing well!
@tspalafox5 жыл бұрын
Beautiful family! Thank you for being real and actually talking about formula. It seems like the f Word is such taboo. I also had to give my newborn formula. It’s reassuring that other mothers also struggle with feeding.

Sounds like my daughter with the spit up situation! We used enfamil AR and it helped a lot. It’s for acid reflux. Hopefully baby feels better! I was told by a DR that our breast milk can be fatty sometimes and if they have AR it can make it worse 😟 so they won’t want the breast milk and the tummy will spit it right out.

My little one who is still breastfeeding. She will be 2 in July 18. Use to drink a lot more then her tummy would be able to handle. spitting back up what was extra. I decided to give her the pacifier after a certain amount of time. It fix the problem. She is no longer using the pacifier. She also didn't have a lot of wet or poopies diapers. I didn't pump because I became frustrated with it. But just let her nurse on demand. She still uses the one breast. Fed her on one breast. She didn't want the other. She still feeds in the morning and night. I hope it help. Also she use to sleep for a long time after feeding I was so tired I didn't bother to wake her up. An old friend told me to let her sleep when she would get hungry she would get up. This is my third girl!
