It breaks my heart that James had to ask people to not speak to them aggressively about amber. Every parent and child is different! Parenting is not 1 set thing, every parent does it differently so please don’t judge them for doing something different to what you did. James and Carys are going to be the most amazing parents!! In their own way of course 😌 amber is super lucky ❤️

I’m halfway through I just want to say honestly you both don’t need to explain anything you do with your daughter like with the snoozepod thingy, it’s 100% your choice and you know what’s best for her, no one will judge as there’s no perfect parent, let’s face it tho you’ll find out soon we all just do what we have to do to make ends meet and get by with our kiddies😂 you just do what you want and feel is best for her as you’re both amazing people and now amazing parents❤️

I really hate that they have to have little texts throughout the video explaining why they are doing what they are doing to their OWN baby... and that they have to clarify they know it’s not safe to have amber in the holder “so don’t comment”.... and even the little comment about the hat like it’s so sad they have to do that because they know people will rip them apart in the comments. Let people parent how they want to.. if they wanted to keep the hat inside for 2 minutes let them! Who cares!!!

Hats indoors can cause babies to overheat and increases the risk of SIDS so it’s not as simple as parenting how people want and ‘who cares’. There are some things that are dangerous. By adding that it tells people who don’t know that it’s dangerous which is a good thing!

@@so_5464 it’s not randoms on the internet it’s NHS, lullaby trust, medical professionals, it’s official guidance to stop a child from overheating and sudden death so your brother may want to check that! There are plenty of different parenting styles and then there’s facts. To be safe and adhere to official guidance, car seats need to have the handle up and babies shouldn’t have hats indoors, that’s just a fact. ‘My mate did it and was alright’ doesn’t make it ok or worth endangering a baby. People watch James and Carys to see what to do so it’s important they do it right safety wise. Carys gave the information that movements slow down at the end of pregnancy. That’s totally incorrect, really, really dangerous information. She didn’t know and corrected herself and that’s fine but it’s important to make sure the correct information is given and they acknowledge that.

You literally have NO idea about my niece yet you think it’s okay to go online and tell someone what to do. just like people have done with carys... she has a midwife and told her it’s okay to take it off inside.... my point is for all anyone could know is it could be 0 degrees where there live, there heating might be broke you never know what’s going on in someone’s life so to judge it on a little clip is so stupid. it’s the fact they have to put a disclaimer on every little thing they do it shouldn’t be like that. Even the little holder she was in! it’s so annoying people feel entitled to critique everything they do. (Also just to mention my brother doesn’t keep the hat on 24/7 i just said that to see if you would come back telling me what to do .. which you did which proved my point.) who do you think she will listen to you or her midwife? @@so_5464 Her midwife is NHS, it’s national guidance! What don’t you understand about that? There are temperatures babies should be kept at, James and Carys’ house is quite obviously within that. But whatever, you do you, tell everyone it’s alright to ignore advice that stops babies from DYING. I didn’t say they’re bad parents or critiqued them, I said they are right to put the disclaimer to show others what to do. Come back when you know what you’re talking about. They themselves acknowledge it’s wrong and a google search would tell you this straight away and you’re still arguing it.

My children are in there 40s and late 30s and with our first we had to stay in for 10 days and dads could only visit during visiting ours. With our second we had to stay in 48 hrs and again dads could only visit during visiting hrs. With our 3rd I could leave after 6 hrs and that was amazing. She’s absolutely beautiful. Well done all.

it’s the worst coming from the mothers point of view . It’s normal in Australia if you give birth in a public hospital , your partner can be there the whole birth no matter the time but after you give birth they can’t stay when your in recovery . Only allowed to come during visiting hours

As a first time mum I popped a hat on my baby the first day home too, nobody told us any different until the Midwife came to my home to do my check and said we didn't need it even though it was freezing as it was october and my baby had been wrapped in heated towels and under a heat lamp in hospital the night before. It must be SOO common. Please don't feel the need to explain yourself all the time, your figuring your way through life with a newborn as first time parents. Everyone has an opinion of how to parent but you two do how you feel is best for you. I'm pregnant with my second and I'm doing things differently to the first time round because of what I learnt like I'm using different equipment etc. You look fab, well done mama. She's beautiful xx

I'm not going to comment on the snoozepod other than to remind *others* that safe sleep recommendations DO differ between the US and the UK, as well as product certifications. (That's why it's important to check them for YOUR country!) So even though something may not be "approved" in the US, it may be in the UK. James and Carys- you have done a fantastic job researching safety info! And everything about parenting tbh. You remind me of me, lol. Maybe slightly obsessed with information gathering, but to the benefit of your child so it's all good.

"a hat isn’t gonna do no harm" Babies regulate their body temperature through their head, you are literally overheating your baby by wrapping it up and putting a hat on it, there is *NOWHERE* for all that heat to escape. It is not rocket science! Please don't give out misinformation.

I don't know where Fred is from.. But there's such things as baby boxes. Literally a box babies sleep in and it's classed as a piece of safe sleeping equipment. That's in 2021 not years ago with bad advice. Now I've heard of it in the UK so not sure if it's a universal thing, and I haven't personally used one as I have been lucky enough to be able to afford 'luxury baby equiptment' but if you are going to try and correct someone, please do it with up to date knowledge. Also, as much as the body temperature thing is correct.. I popped a hat on my baby inside for the first day at home because like these wonderful parents, I wasn't told any different after the hospital had put a hat on our baby. Not only 1 hat but 2 hats (at the same time) a Nappy, vest, sleepsuit, cardigan, blanket, 2 heated towels and a heat lamp.. All for an 8lb 8 baby.. So now tell me I was wrong in thinking a hat sleep suit and vest was okay inside our house when we got home, because how the hell was I meant to know in comparison to how he was wrapped up in hospital the day before..

Two new mum tips I didn’t know and learnt when my son was a newborn; For the future, if you haven’t already; look into a safe dummy clip. I still have my sons first ever dummy because it was on a clip so it never got lost. If you do ever Express and feed via a bottle whilst still direct feeding, you do not ever need to change the size of your bottle teat (the smallest one is great). How it was explained to me; Our nipples do not change so we don’t need to change the teat size. The change in size is for formula because it’s consistency and volume changes. If you increase the teat size too much babies can (not always) become bottle favoured because they don’t have to work at getting milk to come out. You can also practice pace feeding with a bottle to mimic the natural breast let down. If you end up deciding direct feeding is too much or you need to use formula for what ever reason, pace feeding is also great to help reduce wind build up. You both are already great parents!

Breastfed babies tend to cluster feed just a heads up and the 3-4 hour thing is usually aimed at bottle fed babies. Babies usually only wake if they’re hungry. I breastfed for just under 2 years and it was magical ❤️ can’t wait to do it all again x

Feed on demand mama. It will help you get more sleep. The only reason you would need to feed on a “schedule” would be if she had drastic weight loss. You’re doing amazing. She’s perfect. Absolutely perfect. I lost my little girl at 6 days old in July. After 3 boys. So seeing your little girl has me in tears. So much love to you guys.

Her full story is on my channel. I still can’t believe she’s gone. She was perfect. In every, single, way. My twin.

I was so glad to see you talking in normal volume while Amber was sleeping. It’s good to get them adjusted to noise so they learn to sleep through it and you don’t have to tiptoe around . 4th trimester has SO much to learn! I think it’s such a tough time. Getting to know your baby, being a mum, being a dad, sleeping, feeding, team work, new body changes, post birth healing... and THIS part is so different for everyone.
