I got my "little" baby yesterday! I love your videos! Question, I assume it is normal for a tortoise hatchling to explore their new enclosure. But, my little one has been pacing. How normal is this for a tortoise in a new environment?

Congrats on your baby tortoise! 💚🐢 & thanks for the lovely feedback! 🙏😊 Your little one may be a little stressed with the change of environment & checking out where it can find food, water, hiding places etc, but should soon settle. If you're still worried, then feel free to send me a video/photo of your setup on Instagram and I'll have a look to see if there's anything that I can suggest.

notice mine is active only at dawn ,goes to hide then at dusk it come out again , is it normal behaviour ?

Yes, that sounds normal... each tortoise will behave differently, some of mine do that too, whereas others are fairly active most of the day 😊💚🐢

happytortoises hi I just got some tortoises there breed is horse filed there just below 12 months old and they mainly sleep all day and not very active is that normal for 2 baby horse filed tortoises
