Brinly-Hardy 50# Spreader Review | Fall Fertilization/Pesticide Apps

This is a review of the Brinly-Hardy 50# broadcast push spreader. While I received the spreader for free, I think it is a quality product that will last a long time. I used it to spread my fall fertilization and fall pesticide applications. This spreader worked very well, and I look forward to many more applications with it. I spread the 13-5-8 ProPeat greens grade first, and then the BioAdvanced Complete Insect Killer (Imidacloprid, and B-Cyfluthrin). I also joke about using it to spread Peat Moss....

I'm in between this Brinly-Hardy 50 lb. Capacity Push Broadcast Spreader and the EARTHWAY 2600APlus model. Anyone have some thoughts on which to go with?

Earthway is a good option, as is the Echo RB-50. Definitely look at your construction quality and aftermarket part availability. Try to get your hands on one before dropping the big bills!

Almost everything is better than the cheap made but expensive Scott spreaders.

Struggling with settings and matching them up to brand settings on bags of product. No one offers a Brinly setting. Does Brinly match up to another common brand for settings?

I’ve heard it was simple to the Earthway, but you could calibrate your spreader with something like Milorganite that is relatively safe. I typically measure my fert per 1k sq ft, then set it on a low setting and walk it out until I’ve spread it all. (More walking, and takes longer- but it always comes out even).
