I just bought this after the Scotts crapped out after less than a year. Night and day, quality wise. Less plastic, heftier, spreads more evenly. Its a winner. My only misgiving is the edgeguard part, seems like eventually it will get loose and randomly flop down.

I have the Echo RB-60 too and have been using it for years. Have spread thousands of lbs of lime, fert, herbicides with it. A few weak spots I've found. The rear feet plastic plugs fall out cuz it drags like you said. Lime will really rust the legs so wash it after each use. The plastic agitator can come loose and pop out. And finally product can have a hard time flowing out at 10-20% full just as you noticed. I also wish it had a lock open so when your doing 1+ acres it's not fatiguing.

I bought this RB-60 two seasons ago and not that satisfied with it on long term use. The spreader gearbox shifts around on the axel as nothing keeps it centered, had to modify and put electrical tape at each side to keep from moving off center. Also, after probably using the spreader 12 times the spreader cable wire fractured at the bottom side plate. Cable is very under engineered and quite wire thin. Had to argue with the Echo warranty folks to cover this as they claimed this is not covered by their 5 year warranty even though I purchased it 2 1/2 years ago and only limited homeowner use. They finally covered the replacement but acted like they were doing me a favor rather then providing good customer service to stand behind their product 5 year warranty. Agree next spreader will be a Lesco one, guess you get what you pay for. Anyone else have their cable fracture at the bottom base plate?

Here’s a fault I’ve found with the Scott’s spreaders. It’s common with a lot of the units out there. They use wheels that have cavities to the inside. As you spread, they fill & then dump it, causing those over fertilized lines in your lawn. My solution was to fill the cavities with a disk cut from closed cell foam. Then just used tie wraps to affix them to the wheels. Seems to work.
