Addyson, you are awesome! Love your energy and love for fiber. We knit in a very similar way. I am 51, and learned with I was 5. I have tried and tried to continentally knit, but nope, my fingers just don't like that. So, I learned to flick, and go pretty quickly. I wish I was as prolific in my knitting as you. I have so much yarn, but when I get through some of it, will love to invest in some of yours. Thank for your sweetness!

I wish more indie dyers would let us choose colorways and the number of skeins. I understand why they don't; it's a large task with endless hours of work as it is and then pre-orders--whew! I hope this works out for you and that you don't overwork yourself. Best of luck Addison! I look forward to seeing you in your next video.

I loved your podcast. 🙂 I have never tried doing brioche, I only heard about it about a year ago! And probably wouldn't have if not for social media. 😀❤

Hi Addyson, oh I love your skills with dyeing, and I've purchased several skeins on your etsy shop...can't wait to see them and feel them. I love it so much that a young woman is knitting and dyeing, it's wonderful. You are the only youngster I know of who knits...the rest apparently live in the wasteland of internet and smartphone. Good for you girl, I'm so proud of you!

I love watching your podcasts!! I was wondering how you display your shawls? I love the display but don’t know how to hang them so they don’t stretch.
@RubyAndRosesPodcast4 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you love it and thank you for watching!!! There is some inevitable stretching but I try to hang them up on the very tip so it's not as noticeable. Plus a lot of these shawls I wear as scarves so it's not noticeable at all. I would just rather have a little bit of stretching then keep them tucked away in a drawer and hardly ever see them!

If you're a reader, and you like history...one of my favorite books (read at least 10 times), is called ...And Ladies of the Club by Helen Hooven Santmyer. It's about these two women who graduate from 'female college' and live in their home town and their daily ins and outs. It starts in 1865 or 6 and goes through til 1932. Romance, Ohio history, tragedy, social decorum, etc. Guess who's ordering the HP September club (as her birthday is September!).

Is window box more tan/brown or more yellow? After seeing these skeins at end of video, I have perhaps 3 new ones in my etsy cart.
@RubyAndRosesPodcast4 жыл бұрын
I would say it is a rich golden with tan and brown mixed throughout. This is hand-dyed yarn so every batch is slightly different, also it showed up a little brighter of a yellow in the video. The photos in the listing are much more accurate. I hope this helps!

If you freeze the Sugar Daddy first and then brake it, by smacking it on the counter, it will break into bite size pieces.

Hi Addyson, I'm knitting The Transition Shawl as you are and am attempting to knit it just like you. My question is when you start on your straight edge can you please tell me how you knit the rows? I was told to decrease 1 st on row 1 or RH side and then increase 1 st on row 2 or WH side. I'm really confused. if you could just tell me how you decreased or increased on the rows? I would so appreciate your help...thank you so much!! xx
@RubyAndRosesPodcast4 жыл бұрын
As soon as you're finished increasing and are ready to knit straight then you will just stop all increases on the garter section and continue to do the I cord edge. I was talking about the eyelet rows, I made sure to increase to an odd number of stitches then KSK K1 * YO k2tog * and repeat that the entire row. On the next eyelet row you would * k2tog YO* repeat to the end. I hope that makes sense!!💖

Hi Addyson, I'm new to knitting so I goggle every time you say something I don't understand or recognize. My goodness, I never realized there was so much variety in knitting. Anyway, you mentioned the icord bind off so I looked it up. Did you use a 3 cord stitch? I really like the look of that.
@RubyAndRosesPodcast4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did! I also like to k2tog through the back loop on the last stitch. (because it saves time)

I'm wondering.. do you keep a knitting/crafting notebook where you keep track of your projects, yarn used, needle size, date started, etc ? I find it helpful for when I pick up a project that has in in hibernation a while. Do anyone else do this?
