Originally opened in June 1875, Brisbane Roma Street is nestled at the foot of the Spring Hills district of the city, right on the edge of the Brisbane CBD. To the east of the station, multiple tunnels house the lines towards Brisbane Central. The western end station is an important junction, with lines diverging right towards the Exhibition loop and Showgrounds, whilst the the lines to the left head towards Ipswich with a further junction carrying the line over the Merivale Bridge towards South Bank. The shots in this video were filmed during September 2023, during the construction of the new Cross River Rail link. This major infrastructure project has already changed the area around Roma Street with the Transit Centre, opened in 1986, being demolished in 2020 to make way for the development. Das Brisbane Roma Street wurde ursprünglich im Juni 1875 eröffnet und liegt am Fuße des Stadtteils Spring Hills, direkt am Rande des zentralen Geschäftsviertels von Brisbane. Östlich des Bahnhofs beherbergen mehrere Tunnel die Linien in Richtung Brisbane Central. Der westliche Endbahnhof ist ein wichtiger Knotenpunkt, an dem die Linien nach rechts in Richtung Exhibition Loop und Showgrounds abzweigen, während die Linien nach links in Richtung Ipswich fahren und an einem weiteren Knotenpunkt die Linie über die Merivale Bridge in Richtung South Bank führt. Die Aufnahmen in diesem Video wurden im September 2023 während des Baus der neuen Cross River Rail-Verbindung gedreht. Great video, thank you for sharing. Roma Street looks so much better now that the Transit Centre has gone! Really looking forward to seeing the new station building when it's finished.

I agree totally, although I am concerned that the planned new entertainment centre may cover a lot of the lines between the tunnels and the station area.

Thank you so much for your comment John. Whilst it saddens me to hear that someone hasn’t enjoyed the video, I accept all feedback constructively, whether positive or negative. At the end of the day, I’m not a professional video maker, just an enthusiastic amateur who enjoys using many hours of their limited free time trying to make videos which people will enjoy watching. I always prefer to include the original soundtrack. But the situation I was faced with here was that much of the footage was filmed from a packed and noisy conference venue on the tenth floor of the Pacific Hotel, rendering the original sound track useless. I make less than $2 US a day from my channel, so I do not have access to expensive overdubs and must rely on royalty free music and sound effects. I try to use music that is not only appropriate to the film but is also relatively enjoyable to listen to, although music choices are, quite understandably, highly subjective. My question to you therefore is, how would you have produced this video difficulty, given the constraints I was faced with? I very much look forward to hearing your ideas.
