Watching your video in Glasgow, Scotland. Been to Oz 5 times, 4 of them on this video. My main stops were Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Maloolaba, Bribie Island and Brisbane. Although I have owned boats here in Scotland including a 7-tonne catamaran, nothing in the class of the boats you use. I used to give talks on marine life (self-taught) and for years kept cold-water native marines. My whole life has been centred around nature and mainly the sea. So envious of your trip from Brisbane to Cairns, loved it. I'm 76 and look forward to my next adventure.

Great video of the Banks off Cairns mate. I love that place holds a very special place in my Heart living there for 18 years and fishing the banks at every opportunity the weather permitted. Now live in Darwin at age 54 but some day I will move back to Cairns just to have the GBR at my doorstep. There is no better place in the World being on the GBR out of Cairns and NTH when the weather is on. Looking forward to your month back on Merlin to see how you go on the Epic Big Blacks out on the Banks and NTH off the Ribbons from Lizard.

What a great trip!!! Who wouldn’t love to do a trip like that? Yes , someone who gets seasick. Besides a nice piece of Eye Fillet or a Wagyu steak, either fresh Tuna or Salmon 🍣 has got to be the best eating. Thanks for the video Peter.
@Alan-R1971Ай бұрын
As someone who probably gets seasick in a bathtub I would still love to go on a trip like that LOL

Barramundi has to be far better than salmon or tuna! Even coral trout is a better feed.

I recall the Mooloolah River before all of the high rise buildings were around and the Pilot Station was the most important building there. I grew up around the Caloundra area.

@18:23 if those three listed don't put you off swimming, sharks are the least of your worries. A bit a trivia for you, Castle rock as you called it (Castle Hill) is used by the NQ Cowboys as a training /conditioning run for the players! Tom Dearden holds the record, with a time of 18 minutes and 46 seconds from the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral to the lookout.

I'd really like to see some of the work you do as skipper when you're coming alongside the marina in one of these big vessels. The windage must be enormous on those big girls.

Hey mate thanks for another video. If I can make a suggestion consider getting a ND filter for the camera lense you are using. Makes a hell of a difference to the film in our sun and glare.

Great video. I always had my eyes on the 65 Salthouse from NZ but was told the Precision 65 was more solidly built. In any case, that boat made the old 36 Steber I once owned look pretty damn sad. 🤣I kept that in a Marina in Bayview in Sydney when I lived there and for a time, I worked with Phil & Trish Epthorp at Blackwatch Sales Pittwater. When I watched this I thought you looked familiar. Is it possible we met at the Sydney international Boat show? If so, it would have been many years ago, prior to 2006 I think. Anyway, loved the video, really enjoyed watching it.

@ProfessionalBoatCare16 күн бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmm2opiZbM6Kebssi=R4NN_tDWdU8KwsUI Benjamin Knot - like a Bimini twist without the double but you still get the benefit of twice through the swivel. 👍
