I remember replacing a shopfront window in a place next door to their showroom in The 90s. It was a beautiful showroom.

Finally learned how "Blenheim" is pronounced. Had it wrong the whole time! A few years ago I visited the dealership at Kensington High St. in London, just because I'd never seen a Bristol up close and didn't realize it was actually the only Bristol dealership in the world.

The Blenheim boys have sent so much to Germany, there's more of Blenheim in Germany, than there's left of it in Britain, isn't it?

Let's make a car that looks like something from 1985 with the body that looks outdated even by the cheapest of mainstream car manufacturers, built with donor parts from an old vauxhall then sell it for 120k and only sell to people we like, not accepting or listening to any criticism in anyway. I don't know why they went bust!

This was a 1998 video production, Bristol went bust with the latest Fighter model still new off the blocks in 2011, subsequently they were taken over. Sadly, this incredibly individual company never recovered and was liquidated in 2020,a a Bullet model with BMW V8 power and possibly a hybrid drive train being talked of. A massive shame but to survive in the modern age they would have needed impossible amounts of investment and a massive order book, I’m afraid my much hoped for Euromillions win still hasn’t materialised !

No, they are cheaper. Your avg Bentley starts at 250,000+ Also, this is an older model now, this video is from the 1990's, so the prices are cheaper now.

Stephen Keeler It's a Chrysler V8, at this time, it was most likely a Magnum 5.9L (360 CI) V8. V8 Almost every Bristol since the 1960s has used Chrysler Engines under the hood, Even their newest car (Bristol Fighter T) uses a 8.2L V10 from a Dodge Viper, fitted with twin Turbos to make it even more insanely powerful!
@brettonwoods98566 жыл бұрын
You could theoretically order a Blenheim with any engine of your choosing, but strictly speaking, it was to be from the Mopar Performance engines catalogue. You could option a Blenheim with the 426 [7 litre] HEMI.

Interesting that Bristol used a 360 cu inch crater motor rather than the more modern and available (and more hp--375 in fact) 5.7 Hemi at the time these came out. Not to mention, the 360 was technically a used engine, and carbureted. Chrysler even came out with higher performance Hemi engines, including a 425 hp, and later 475 hp. The exotic Bristol used a Viper V10, and I would have thought that they could have had a limited edition Blenheim with a V10. But no...for the cost, they chose to stick with used 360 cubic inch, 230 hp engines?
@uzaname79745 жыл бұрын
A crate engine is a fully assembled automobile engine that is shipped to the installer, originally in a crate.
@brettonwoods98564 жыл бұрын
Look around online for a document titled 'Mopar Performance Engine Catalogue' or words to that effect. The Blenheim could be fitted with any of that range of V8s. I'm not sure that they could engineer a V10 to the Blenheim application.

Tony Crook ran that company into the ground, investing a fortune in the gimcrack Fighter supercar and not trusting reviewers with demonstrator cars. He was absolutely the wrong MD for a niche carmaker like Bristo
@JonnyJayJonson5 жыл бұрын
Nah, way off mate... Crook wasn't actually fond of the Fighter; he believed it was the wrong kind of car for Bristol to be selling, because of all the associated development costs for a start. Crook had kept Bristol Cars running for decades by keeping to his core beliefs and understanding his clientele. He knew Bristols weren't to all tastes and didn't worry himself otherwise. And Crook didn't keep the press at bay as much as they liked to claim. All Bristol models have been roadtested by the press, check out Brooklands Books 'Bristol Cars Gold Portfolio' for proof (the most recent edition covers 1946-2012), a book containing some 300-odd pages of press reports. As they weren't launching new cars every few years, there wasn't much need for Bristol to have constant press attention. Nonetheless, the Blenheim for instance was roadtested by Autocar three times, plus Top Gear Magazine and Evo. All reviews are generally positive incidentally. The Fighter was actually the pet project of Toby Silverton, who took over Bristol Cars back in the 2000s. Investors pulled out in the early 2010s, which is basically why the company went into liquidation. I adore the Fighter but had it not come into existence, Bristol might have survived. I personally think the 411 Series 6 was a better idea... But I'll say it again, I love the Fighter...

@davekennedy63152 жыл бұрын
What a hideous car! Slow, incredibly ugly, no doubt handles awful, looks to have been designed in the 50s/60s and never updated and is built using cheapo Vauxhall and Ford bits. Now the majority of very high end cars (Bently, Rolls Royce, Maserati etc) like this WANT others to know they're rich and buy because they love the look of the cars and like the bragging rights. I can't imagine ANYONE being impressed by this turd!
@Tourist1967Ай бұрын
You check how many RR/Bentley bits were sourced from 'lesser' cars prior to BMW and VW ownership. Citroen, GM, British Leyland, etc, etc. Now, of course, it's the BMW and VW parts bins that get raided.
