Fair play to you mate, travelling with the green army must be the hardest task in the world at the moment. Thanks for giving me a little shoutout in the description, gutted I wasn’t able to meet you in the end, perhaps we could meet at Home Park. That’s if I’m lucky enough to get a ticket when we visit you guys in New Year’s Day. If not, hopefully there will be a next year where we play each other again. Really rooting for you guys to stay up cause your fans deserve much better for the incredible support you guys show week in week out 👏

Rooney after his 173 games with 4 clubs and a 26% win rate in total says it all, get shot of him and I think that will help turn Plymouths fortunes around, Even watching him on the sidelines he shows no interest or passion, Anyway good luck for the rest of the season from a Bristol City fan.
@drmccoy33Ай бұрын
With all due respect Jack you are a bit delusional on this Rooney issue. Would you say the players Rooney has are overall worse, better or equal in quality to Oxford, Portsmouth, Derby, Cardiff, QPR ? I would say they are all very close in terms of quality some better and some worse but what you do see is none of these other teams are getting battered week in and out on the road or otherwise. They have a system, they have a strong understanding of their roles, they have set lineups, they play their system and they are close in games where they can win them. Plymouth are not and that is down to the manager. Plymouth have also had some brilliant individual play which has saved so many games at the death which has nothing to do with Rooney and he is fortunate for this and essentially has masked how bad it really is for him. I believe a good quality league 1 manager would come in here and get these guys competitive in every match. Rooney is not capable in this manner as he has no set philosophy of play , tactics or lineup and hence the instability you see every week. I dont see anything changing even with Jan window. It's a pattern with Rooney shown at every club he has been with and its always the backers that come up with excuses for him. In my opinion he has to go to try to save relegation.
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTVАй бұрын
Fair enough mate, agree to disagree and one of the most understandable comments I’ve ever had where I’m called a bit delusional, not everyone will agree with me anyways to be fair so yeah it’s chill. That’s a completely understandable opinion on why you think Rooney shouldn’t be our manager. I’m still personally behind him for now, this might change if our two home games coming are a disaster but I have my reasons why I’m more behind him than the board of our club who I think are responsible for not backing him enough and the players not performing like Whittaker who I’d expect so much more from but he’s been abysmal. But like I said, I guess time will tell with a second half of the season. I don’t want him sacked but if he does get sacked and we end up with a manager who completely rescues our season then yes I’ll look at myself going *guess they were right all along & we did the right thing at the end* but guess I’ll see what happens basically. My personal favourite candidate if Rooney goes is Nigel Pearson imo. Think about it, Absolutely he’s a top manager, he knows this league inside out, he knows the South West so so well, not even far from living here, sustainable manager in this league, Bristol City wouldn’t be in the Championship for this long if it wasn’t for him, they sacked him because they gave him so much time to try and bring them to the next level which he couldn’t. But I just feel he’s the sort of person that would take us to the next level, and then if we stay that next level in this league for years, then bring in someone else in but nah I massively rate him and hasn’t been in a job for a while either. But yeah like I said, I’ll see what happens and there is the usual phrase *careful what you wish for*, regardless of what I think of Rooney, must win on Saturday vs Oxford #COYG💚
@jonathandavies9641Ай бұрын
Rooney has had an abysmal away record every club he has managed why do you think that would change at a club that has an abyss away record 😮
@RoderickRichards-yl7cmАй бұрын
I agree with you Jack it’s the board that is the problem and not Rooney .im a Rooney in fan. They :that is the board have been buying players that are not good enough for this league and that’s the problem

Not the game or result you guys wanted I don't blame grimshaw for being pissed at his defense I don't even know what's going on with Plymouth Games away atm absolutely awful Rooney be gone way it's going need some better defense & players when away tbh not the season you want mate
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTVАй бұрын
Honestly over the years, Argyle have struggled on the road and have been so much better at home, I’m now just hoping at this point we break last season’s February record and get our first away win before then
@Louie-c2hАй бұрын
This is what happens when you have a League one squad in the Championship. I’m not saying it’s all Rooney’s fault by the way, but tactically we are a mess, which is down to him. I don’t think him leaving would affect whether we survive or not, but I think we’d have a better chance if we brought in a Championship experienced manager.
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTVАй бұрын
Agreed Louie absolutely, for me this is down on the players and board, not Rooney. But at the same time, everytime Rooney starts Palsson for example who has been woeful this season, I don’t understand the logic either. Yet I understand he’s giving him a chance. We need to nail that January transfer window now since it’s now December, this is where the serious part of the season now starts, Game 23 is in 23 days, the halfway point of the season. Two must wins at home coming vs Oxford & Swansea, #COYG💚

No need to be reactionary, we were always gonna struggle this season. The away form is embarrassing and I really feel sorry for the travelling fans. We need to back the boys regardless, look at the teams around us…this league is hard
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTVАй бұрын
To be honest I’d much rather be reactionary than be boring and just *accept it* when I know this club can do better. But either way apart from that, I do agree mate I do agree, if things get turned around, I still back us to get mid table, it’s still a long way to go but like you said, it’s a very hard league for a reason and we got some very big games coming soon, #COYG💚 Oxford on Saturday at home is a must 3 points 💪

Got a lot of respect for plymouth great fans that will make noise and take numbers to any ground in the country but this is no derby about between 2 to 3 hours drive and devon and cornwall aint part of the westcountry (personal opinion). Starts in gloucester and ends yeovil/taunton way
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTV5 күн бұрын
Fair enough mate, depends on how you look at it in my opinion. It’s more that yes, I agree that in depth, Gloucestershire Bristol and Somerset is the West Country while Devon & Cornwall is the South West, Dorset is full on Southern England meanwhile, however, when you look at the actual factual map of England, we’re all part of the broader South West, same with Dorset and Wiltshire. I disagree about it not being a derby though because firstly, Bristol and Plymouth are the two biggest cities in the region so that always comes to my mind and secondly, both sets of fanbases have had their fair share of clashing. Always a bit of needle when we play either you lot or The Gas. Thirdly, we’re miles away from everyone, only Exeter and Torquay come close to being *local local* derbies if that makes sense. And also Truro are my non league club and as I’m Cornish, I want anyone from Cornwall to do well at football. So therefore, I’m for these other *derbies* because it makes football so much more interesting. And there’s way way way more clubs that are professional Up North unlike down here so that’s also why I’m all for these derbies too. Portsmouth are 3 hours from us as well and they’re our 2nd biggest rivals and we are their 2nd biggest rivals (some parts of the fanbases don’t see it that way but I do, I’ve seen it all from the League Two days that we really don’t like each other and that it’s do with the Docks, Ports and Navy) and there’s history to our game vs them too. Also, if we’re going to have other derbies other than Exeter and Torquay, they are going to be in Southern England or the West Country, not anywhere up North, Midlands, East Anglia or London are we. And I know a lot of people in Bristol City’s fanbase that absolutely despise us and I’m absolutely fine with that because I know there’s a rivalry. But depends on the individual because there’s others out there who aren’t that bothered meanwhile.
@Ross-t2f3 күн бұрын
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTV a derby cant be over 2 hours for me were closer to cardiff swindon yeovil and even birmingham and wolverhampton and trust me most city fans would prefer plymouth to any of they teams. A rivalry is different to a derby and lets face it the gas have more hatred towards u's than what we have
@CornishJannerPlymouthFanTV3 күн бұрын
@@Ross-t2fI completely disagree, yes it absolutely can, just ask Ipswich Norwich, Wimbledon MK, Wrexham Shrewsbury, you lot vs not just Cardiff but Swansea too, Middlesbrough Leeds, they don’t have to be in the exact same county or city and yet those are teams who absolutely despise one or another. What you’ve said is honestly not true. Maybe in your world you’ve experienced Bristol City fans in your universe that don’t mind us but so many people I know who support your club absolutely hate us and I’m fine with it. Same region technically, Wolves is the Midlands so I don’t understand how you’d see that as a bigger game when our games have been intense for years. I went to your Southampton game last season as a neutral and they all said your fans that they don’t like us. I’m fine with it. I prefer the derbies because it makes football a lot more fun to be honest. Also, you’ve got to remember that we are far from EVERYONE so of course we’re going to have rivalries with clubs that are 2 hours away or over, but they’re going to be in Southern England aren’t they, not the Midlands, London, the North or East. There’s reasons and history on why Argyle & Bristol City (as well as Bristol Rovers) don’t like each other. If you don’t care about the derbies with us then that is completely up to you. But don’t force your views onto me because it won’t change at all. Bristol City vs Plymouth Argyle is always a BIG game no matter what

As a gashead, I was hoping you’d win. City are a horrible hooligan firm with some billboards and hospitality attached to give the veneer of respectability. Plymouth are a decent league club, not entirely populated by people with baseball caps and England tattoos on their forearm. After burning our ground down, threatening our players in their homes, assaulting our players ON THE PITCH for equalising, destiny has seen fit to bless them with a billionaire. Life isn’t fair but hopefully one day they will get their just desserts. For now we have to suck it up
