My husband Malcolm former Drill Squad and C/Sgt. Drums RMVBCC Eastney, Portsmouth, 1956 - 1963 - an excellent drill display very well done Bristol. Nice to see the ladies amongst you, boys only in my day. Congratulations also to the drill Lance Corporal for clear precise instructions. You make an old man happy to see the standards maintained of bearing and discipline after so many years. I hope many of you go onto the Corp. I come from the 7th generation of Royal Marines mainly associated with Portsmouth. May you go on for many years. Very well done.

As an Army Cadet, i have to admit, the uniforms are miles better than ours.

Good display but quite a few mess ups and some of the cadets looked like robots when marching. What was this for?

Looks like a basic presentation drill, usually done on ceremonial and promotional ceremonies. If you're talking about the cadets being robot-like, I'm guessing they just wanted to make sure they were in sync and everything, it happens with my squad also since we do tend to look like robots.

Generally good drill, notices some slight mess ups but generally impressive.

I can understand why some messed up at 1:40.. I'm not that familiar with marine drill but they were at ease and should of been at attention to turn (from what I know) but I could be wrong lol

Wow .in 1972 l was a boy marine at the the age of 13 . Served for two years. Went down too HMS Raleigh for a week. With sea cadets. Got to hold and fire a SMG sten gun. At HMS Royal marines base on there firing Range . And a Boffer gun at HMS Raliegh 💖👍
