I still enjoy watching this show in reruns! Brilliant, and completely live!

Harvey Corman would crack up with Tim Conwsys improvised zingers. You might see Corman turn away or try to cover his face.

Hello from Sweden. I grew up watching some of the Carol Burnett show. Her show started the year i was born and ended when i turned 10 that year. It was on Saturday nights at 10. There is a sketch with Tim and Harvey, and Carol called As the Stomach Turns. And Tim plays the old man. Enjoy!!!

You guys should try to react to Tim Conway and Harvey Korman in The Oldest Man Wardrobe Manager from The Carol Burnette Show. Tim has Harvey laughing so hard he can't even say his lines. 😂😂😂

And be SURE to watch as many of the Carol Burnett movie spoofs, such as Went With The Wind, Mildred Fierce, Beach Blanket Boo-Boo, The Doily Sisters, Flora, and Golda. She also spoofs Sunset Boulevard in several skit, that will make you howl! 😆

"The Interrogation Skit" is still my favorite. Or the "Tim Conway & Sammy Davis Jr. Live the Pirate's Life | The Carol Burnett Show Clip " Grew up watching these shows, best laughs ever. Hope you get to them one day.

Sammy Davis Jr. did a skit on this show in this same scenario. It was so funny.

They did this "The Oldest Man" character in a lot of different situations. Always very different but always funny. In one he runs a dry cleaners and another he is a clock repair man.

Thanks Nancy for the great suggestion. I remember seeing this when it first aired. They had a fabulous cast that worked so well together. It surely does show how humor has changed over the generations. Thanks guys for another good chuckle type reaction.- Hawk

The Carol Burnett Show was always filmed twice: once at 7:30pm, then at 9:30pm. The cast followed the script during the earlier taping, but ad-libbed for the second show, meaning all bets were literally off! Just look up MRS WIGGINS INTERVIEW, and you will see WHY this could never make it on the air. Tim Conway gets a few curses in, Carol follows suit. But Vickie Lawrence, as Mrs Tudball, brings down the house with her final remark. You WILL PEE YOURSELVES LAUGHING!!! 🤣

Tim was almost losing it the entire time with this one. The show had great writers along with great actors who were amazing with their ability to ad-lib their lines. 😅 I also love Monty Python.😂

I love how you two love Carol Burnett just as much as those of us who grew up watching her. When I was little, under the age of nine, I was in the hospital a lot due to asthma. I can remember watching the carol Burnett show as a little kid in the hospital. This was years before Tim Conway. I used to love Lyle Wagner. Even though the Carol Burnett show was not for children, I still loved it as a five year old. I used to love their musical segments and dance routines. I continued to watch it through my teen years until it finally went off when I was still in high school.

Tim's mission was always to make Harvey break character and crack up. There were times Tim succeeded. 😆😆

This show was hilarious and Tim Conway ad libbed a lot and had the cast in stitches. Watch the dentist if you haven't seen it yet.

Tim lived to crack the other cast members and guests up. He would pull stunts during rehearsals every time they ran through things. It was usually the same thing each time so the other came to expect it. But, during the actual taping, Tim would come out with even more ludicrous actions, noises and remarks so the others never knew what to expect from him. I watched a interview with Harvey ,Carol, Vickie and Tim where they all told Tim that he was the funniest thing that lived and the toughest person to work with. Any of 'the oldest man' skits are worth watching as Tim pulled no stops to get Harvey Korman to break character.

Tim Conway always had trouble remembering his lines so he did what he did best ad lib and improvise. The classic siamese eelephant still kills me.

I think what makes this work is there does not seem to be a rush to finish the sketch, they take their time and let the comedy breathe more. Now it has to be so fast, two minutes or so only.

I am 56 and I truly feel it’s this show and so many others that I watched growing up in the 70’s is the reason my generation is so damn funny and witty . I am 56 . I am damn funny and it’s because of watching this and SNL as a kid . So many shows raised us . Literally. 🤍⭐️🤍⭐️🤍

Goodness, Lyle Wagner was fiiiine! I loved seeing him in a speedo when he was supposed to be Mark Spitz. 😳 The galley slaves featuring Sammy Davis Jr. is funnier to me, but Tim Conway is always going to cause someone to break character. 👏🏽 "The Elephant Story" and "The Dentist" make me laugh so hard that I shed tears. 😅 I agree with those who say to check out the movie spoofs.
