I miss the bagels and the breakfast sandwiches in NY more than I miss the pizza. The flavor and the texture is just out of this world. They are not lying.

I've never been to NYC, but I make bagels at home. Way better than anything you find in a grocery store. Even in the bakery department.

I’ll be honest. I don’t know anyone who loves an onion bagel more than me. I grew up on bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches (ona hard roll) but when I discovered onion bagels? My life was changed forever. ❤

The main reason for holes in doughnuts and bagels is so you don't have to worry about the center coming out raw.

The store is located in Thompson Square, Ollie was joking he expected square bagels. You are right, bagels have a hole in the middle, it is said that the Jewish immigrants who first brought them, used to carry them in a pole to sell on the streets.

Lux comes Scandinavia where fishermen preserved salmon in salt water brine. Bagels are believed to have originated in China and moved to Italy in the 1500s. Lux and bagels came together in New York as a religious dietary food to break the fast for the Jewish people.The ring shaped inspired symbols of life and death, solitude, union, good fortune, the hole at the center of existence.

I thought they originated in Eastern Europe, around Poland?
@SherriLyle80s8 ай бұрын
Bagels were invented in Poland by Jewish Poles. It was thought they used left over pretzel dough. That's why both are made in a similar fashion. It's spelled Lox. At least in the US it's spelled that way
