That’s super cool that you got to meet them. The closest I ever got to meeting Keanu was that I went to the baskin robbins in Alameda (where they took the picture of him eating ice cream) a day or so before he did. I’ve noticed a lot of the best actors are shy or reserved in some way. I find that really interesting.

You more than any other reactor got followed the action and forces almost perfectly! So enjoyable to rewatch this along with someone who can truly follow the film. The only thing: when the priest dies in the liquor store... Yes, he is being denied the alcohol that he needs to shield himself from his psychic vulnerability, but I think the liquid coming out of him is the alcohol already drunk to afford him some shielding is being pulled out of him, leaving him entirely unprotected. His death is either the direct impact of evil and/or the trauma of the alcohol extraction. A shame you didn't see the scene at the end of the credits...

Funny thing is that the reason Peter Stormare's Lucifer said "I Need a Vacation" is because he's referencing the comic that inspired Tom Ellis's portrayal in the tv series "Lucifer". Despite their portrayals being polar opposites, they both did a masterful job depicting the fact that Lucifer doesn't care what humans do with their lives as long as they accept the consequences of their own actions. FUN FACT: The man playing Balthazar is none other than rockstar Gavin Rossdale, leader of the grunge band "Bush".

@@kabirconsiders Before World War II, the Spear of Destiny (more properly known as the Maurice Spear) was exhibited in the Hofburg Museum in Vienna. It attracted the attention of the young Adolf Hitler, who linked it with legends of the Holy Grail and made his own plans to be a man of destiny. The spear held a special fascination for Hitler and his associates in the hothouse atmosphere of occultism and evil philosophies that gave rise to the Nazi plan for world domination. In 1935, Heinrich Himmler had a replica of the spear made and kept it in his private room. Three years later, Hitler led his troops into Austria, the first stage of his plan for world conquest. One of his first acts was to remove the Spear of Destiny from the Hofburg Museum. The spear was buried beneath the Nuremberg Fortress, where it was discovered on the day that Hitler shot himself in the Berlin bunker on April 30, 1945. It was recovered together with other treasures of the Imperial collection. On January 6, 1946, these treasures were returned to the authorities at Vienna, and the spear was reinstated in the Hofburg Museum.

You missed the after-credits scene. It's on youtube Tilda Swinton as Gabriel was a good depiction. There have been some great cosplays of her. There's a youtube of the best depictions of the devil, and another of angels.

Wasn't Constantine from the U.K. in the comics? I would have thought someone would point that out to the British man lol.

A few things i wanna say 1. U missed the end credits which i think you would've liked. 2. This movie has a cult following but when it came out it wasnt that well received critics because they didntlike it but fans didnt like it because they changed a few things. 1 Constantine in the comics hes blonde, British & his coat is tanned plus hes alot more powerful. Papa midnight is also a lot more powerful & interesting a character. 3. Although theres no sequel in the making yet the whole cast including Keanu have said they wanna make a sequel

When my wife and I saw this movie, I chose it because I thought it was about the emperor Constantine (Eastern Roman Empire), and I thought it would be some sort of a historical saga. How wrong I was.

Spears don't have to be long and they were called different things long ago. It's a complete spear. Gabriel has always been between both worlds and a POS.

This movie isn't the most faithful adaptation of the character... John Constantine famously sold his soul to all the lords of hell so none of them would dare try to claim it so war didn't break out... but it's a great movie in its own right. Oh, yeah, and I'd forgotten. This was the first time I ever saw Tilda in a movie. Great performance, and she's kept up ever since.

@@kabirconsiders It's a shame, there's another comic called Books of Magic where Constantine and other characters like Zatanna guide a kid (who's very much like Harry Potter but predates him) through the world of magic, and it would make a great HBO Max kind of show, but any adaptation has been in development hell for years.

Constantine was from DC's more mature-themed Vertigo Comics before getting rolled into the main DC canon in one of their big reboot events. He's also meant to be British, with his appearance based on Sting.

I saw this this film such a long time ago. It seems to revolved around some form of Santería religious practice, though there are many variations of the faith. I found it to be creepy, but nonetheless entertaining. 😉
