Copyright laws prevented most of Led Zeppelin’s immigrant song during most of the opener. You probably missed out on 2 minutes of recording.

The way copyright laws has made cuts to shows has always confused me that there isn't just a standard way to do it. Scouts in 2011 and Surf in 2012 had the visuals cut but the full audio for both is available, Cadets in 2012 has visuals but audio cut, Blue Knights and Blue Devils in 2015 has audio cut from both video and audio release, Crossmen here have audio cut in the video but not in audio release.

The big drums they rolled out during that percussion break were concert bass drums! Usually a front ensemble will have just one, but I reckon they included more just for the sake of visual effect

The main theme IS Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries. that's one of the main ways it connects to Valkyrie

That piece of music that sounded so familiar is Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyries." It's been used a lot, from Bugs Bunny to the beech helicopter attack scene in Apocalypse Now.

you had me cracking up so hard driving on the interstate when you said again become a thing and I can’t say again😂😂😂😂 so the Crossman have a pretty great history as they used to be located in Pennsylvania until 2000s when they relocated to Texas. I don’t believe they’ve ever replaced higher than six and interestingly enough I believe that was with their pat Metheny show. I want to say that was 1992 somewhere in the early 90s. I had not seen the show since finals night. I think they were 10th or 11th place. some years there is a huge drop off in scoring after the sixth or seventh place core while other years everyone that made the top 12 and even a couple that didn’t make it into the finals are all great. One item I’m trying to work on as a diehard DCI Alum is not be a drum corp snob which is someone who only pay attention to the top six or seven or to the course that they like. I love it how you watch even the open class corps with the same respect that they deserve. no I know from your comment to me the other day that you have been working on some of the 2014 request and I am hoping that my PayPal request for 2014 blue Devils with the highest score of 99.65 is one that is coming up soon😁😁😁 can’t wait until the next show

Used to march Crossmen 2010! But i have never found a video of our performance on KZbin. I am biased, but think you would like it! My favorite Crossmen show before 2010 is 2007 titled Metamorphosis - i recommend watching that too!

Thanks for a Crossmen reaction! I marched with Crossmen "forever ago": 1981 (8th place), 1982 (7th place), and 1983 (13th place). If you would like to watch an early Crossmen Show, I would try 1982. I have viewed every DCI show you've reacted to online; love your reactions!!

I don't this show was going for a Valkyrie story so much as an abstract concept of Valkyrie, hence the costuming and musical selections (REALLY wish they hadn't removed the Immigrant Song segments, but that's copyright for ya) without a "main character" or story line.
