Håkan turns 50 this year. He divides Sweden like the Red Sea. Most people either hate or love him. He doesn't have much of a singing voice, but it still works and the lyrics are good. I vote for more British accents in the music. Love songs like Billy Bragg's "between the wars" very precisely for the beautiful accent.

I am a German who has been living in Sweden since 2005. Gothenburg, where Håkan is from. Yes, here it's basically that you either love him or hate him and say cannot sing. For me, his music touches me, he manages to reach my heart. The feel, the sound of the music, his voice, his lyrics. I can just feel his music. Like so many people. Even when he steals parts from other artists, which he does do here. This one has a part U2-New Year's Day and a part The Killers-When We Were Young. But: I can relate so much more to this one. This song means a lot to me. He does that many times, steal parts from other artists. But I think the songs always turn out really well. I hate it when people steal stuff and it feels like they have nothing to add. For me, it's not at all like that with Håkan. Anyway, he has so many good songs where has not stolen anything. He also has a lot of lyrical references to his heroes, where he incorporates lines that are translations from lines of English songs he likes. All kinds of genres. I like this a lot, probably because I like his taste ;-) I've seen Håkan live 3 times. Very emotional. One more thing: I wrote my Bachelor's thesis titled "Has British become more British?" about 15 years ago. Because I loved all that British music where you could suddenly spot so many regional dialects (much more than before)! Exactly what you are saying - it's really nice when people sing in their dialects! Arctic Monkeys' "Fake Tales of San Francisco" was a bit of a comment on that as well, I think. Like "Be authentic, sing in your voice about stuff you know." So much about that ;-) For some Håkan feel without stolen parts these are quite good, I think: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIqcY2CEe7eLf8U kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn25e6d3pMh2fqM I think in Sweden there are many artists that are good in between melancholy and euphoria (and yes, nostalgia as well). I think I need to join your Patreon sometime soon, once I find the time. I'm a music nerd with over 840 Spotify lists, a lot of German and Swedish stuff as well.

Håkan is very famous in Sweden yes. Some ppl like him and other ppl do not. I used to dislike him but the more I turned out to be a philanthropist, I noticed a correlation between understanding ppl and understanding music. To understand the music some ppl listens to, you can discover a lot about them. Then I noticed the fantastic lyrics the more I learned to appreciate his voice. The way you analyze songs, like this one, really reminds me of how I myself deal with music. To associate and collet patterns in the music to your inner library. The texts, but also how the song is portrayed in the music video.

The song is from 2013 and yeah, he is a indiepop/rock artist who's very famous in sweden. I've been listning to him since 2003. He started his solo career in 2000. "Det kommer aldrig vara över mig" can tanslate to "it will never be over for me" and it's about still being here and that you have learned from life and keep on going, maybe a bit stronger now unlike when you were younger. It's a hard to explain, every person reads into his lyrics in their own way, it's kind of what is speciel about him as an artist.

Here are the lyrics to the song in English. I am sixteen years I am the place they never discovered I'm a storm from nowhere I can break your heart Like a hurricane I can sweep you away But I will never die, no It will never go away for me I will love you until the end of the earth Because I will never die, no It will never go away for me I am twenty-four Just a little spark Just one word can set a forest on fire I can love you just like that fire But I will never die, no It will never go away for me I can burn you like you've never burned yourself If you play with me It will never go away for me I'm thirty-nine I am a lost confidence A boy from the past is back again He just stands there And stares straight into my soul We would love each other to the end of the earth And you would never die, no. It would never be over for you I will love you until the end of the earth Because I will never die, no It will never go away for me

Håkan is a poet. His lyrics are why people love him, so you really should try to translate them first. Then he is also known for ”borrowing” some notes here and there from other artist. The term is derived from the word visa which denotes traditional and popular folk song of Sweden. During the 1970s this was among the most popular genres of music in Scandinavia.'' Vispop is typically performed by a singer-songwriter playing an acoustic guitar, and the lyrics often expresses social commentary. But yeah håkan is a great song writer, most people will like him because of his lyrics since he does not carry the most beutiful voice, even tho thats not a negative in my opinion, it makes him sound more autentic...
