The handbrake thing is no joke. Just a few years ago the actor in Star Trek who played the new Chekov (Anton Yelchin) was killed when he left the brake off and the car rolled backwards, crushing him. Check the thing, check it again and for good measure check one more time before trusting the thing. Dying in a car crash is always terrible, but to die from your own car rolling over you seems like an added insult somehow.

Kabir, welcome to my world. I’ve been a claims adjuster for 30+ years. I always tell my clients, (insureds or claimants), that no one wakes up in the morning and says ‘I think I’ll be in a traffic accident today!’ But as you see, you can’t make stuff like this up. But these are only the stupid ones. It’s the fatalities and serious injuries that just make you ask ‘Why?’ I tell my kids and my friends: “Expect the stupid. It’ll happen”

12:25 in America, you cannot remove those things (a boot) with your bare hands. If try to drive it on your car, you completely destroy the wheel well. 12:43 that’s the normal size of a UPS truck in America.
@SpearM3064
@SpearM3064 2 жыл бұрын
Well, to be fair, I've seen people remove them before. The best quality boots require tightening with a socket wrench; if the owner can get the car moving before it's fully tightened, they can usually force it off. However, if you break it, you buy it (or get a ticket for vandalism of city property); if you take it with you like that guy did, it's treated as felony theft.

A guy I worked with was riding his motorcycle to meet friends at a bar. His friends were following him. They got stopped at a light and he was at the front of the line. Someone behind his friends didn’t stop, caused a fender bender chain reaction which ended up causing his fiends to tap him into traffic…he died at the scene. ALWAYS give bikers room at stops and lights.

I live in a city that floods often, and I swear, there are so many idiots that will literally see 5 cars in front of them stuck in flood water up to their rooves and they think, let me try to go through with my car that's smaller than all the ones in front. Next thing you know, they are incredibly surprised when they flood their engine or worse get trapped in rushing water and need a rescue. The city is really good about putting up barriers ahead of time for low lying areas, and still they drive around. It's insane that they are willing to total their car and risk losing their life instead of just waiting because at the point where the city is flooding...your job, school, everything is already shut down, so where are they going?!?

I always tell my kids when they are driving to be defensive drivers and anticipate what another driver may do and how they are going to respond to another driver's stupidity!!! Years ago when I was a kid, I was riding in a vehicle with my best friend, her grandma [who was driving], and her aunt [who was in the front passenger seat. As my friend's grandma was turning left onto another street, the aunt's door popped open!!! Thank goodness she kept her hand on the door or she would have been out on the road!! I just remember her grandma, without slowing down, reaching over and pulling her daughter, my friend's aunt, back over and the aunt pulling the door shut with her and grandma kept driving like nothing happened!?! 🤣😂 At the time it was scary, but once she was safe, we just died laughing!!! 🤣😂

Also requires deleting emissions systems typically which means a failure on vehicle inspection in the states that do one. Mine doesn’t happen to be one that tests emissions or does inspections; you’ll see all sorts of shit on the roads here. I my old job as a driver, we used those tall 'luton vans'. Work was getting too much for just me and boss had deserved time off. So we got a new fella in. For the first 2 weeks he came with me so I could show him how it was done.... There was 1 delivery that was easy enough but you had to revearse down the back lane of the shop. Half way down was a water outlet pipe. It stuck out about 6 inch and just at the correct hight that could put a huge rip in the side of a luton van 4 inch from the top... I forgot to tell him so I got a bigger bolloking than him. Then the next week my boss took on the new guys route. And not only did he put a rip in the side of the van he also hit one of those huge stones . It cracked the oil sump and it was about 5pm on a Saturday. He had to find a hotel, on the outskirts of London until Tuesday, it was a bank holiday. He told me to ring up my pal and tell him he wasn't sacked any more. hahaha

I have owned some really fast cars from the time I got a drivers License (16). I felt the urge to show off and drive fast when I was young that lead to an accident and several tickets, Now that I'm old I just feel the enjoyment of a fast car without the need to show off. Late nights on a quiet highway is where I get an occasional thrill.

It's really common to see work vehicles parked in towns... on railway tracks in South Korea (at least, for the 8 years - off and on - I spent there between 1999 and 2011). The owners know the train schedules and move the vehicles before the train comes through. The clip was from Vietnam, but I guess it's popular to do the same there, as well.

Impatience, rage, and idiocy. I've gotten 2 new vehicles because drivers apparently like the smell of my exhaust and follow too close. I have a rear facing camera, so they have no chance at fighting my insurance company. Both trucks were totalled, one driver was arrested for fleeing the scene and lost partial custody of his kids. Then he got out of jail, and went right back after threatening violence. One insurance company tried to fight it so long, they added 2 grand worth of rental fees to their bill! One guy had those blinding HID headlights custom installed, and lost like 3.5-4 grand because he didn't add them to his coverage.

In the state of Arizona they actually passed a law that in flood zones if you go through when there's water then you will be charged for your rescue. And because Arizona isn't a rainy State they get flash floods really quickly and if you see any kind of dark clouds over any mountains you stay out of any flood zone areas cuz it can come down on you like a mountain falling down on top of you. It's you also get a ticket besides having to pay to be towed out or rescued and in some cases the car is completely gone and they're sitting on top of the roof. You should look up some of those videos they're hilarious. People will do the dumbest things.

Here in the USA most vehicle's are automatic, so most of us don't use the parking/ hand brake, just slam it in park, is usually just fine but one must put it park (locks the transmission) for the car to stay where one puts it, I finally learned that Jesus's last name is Woo, holiday greeting's too you and yours

Even then, if you just leave the car in park on, say, a steep hill, you run the risk of breaking the parking pawl. For those who don't know: This is basically a metal pin that engages a notched ring attached to the transmission's output shaft. When you park your vehicle on an incline, a lot of stress is placed on your vehicle’s parking pawl. When you set your shifter to Park position before you set the parking brake, the entire weight of your vehicle rests in the parking pawl device. Doing this over time will force the parking pawl to get weak and wear out, leading to premature failure. If your car is rear-wheel drive and you have a broken Universal Joint (U-Joint), your car will roll anyway, even if the pawl works. TL;DR: If you're parking on a relatively flat road, you don't need the hand brake, just leave it in park. If you're parking on a hill, put your hand brake on _then_ put the transmission in Park. Your car (and your parking pawl) will thank you for it.

He parked his car so close to the train because he drives in Vietnam. LOL!! 9:31 Forget about the hand brake. Don't leave it running in Drive. LOL!! Many hand brakes wouldn't hold that anyway. You really do take these to heart. It just makes me kinda sad. Maybe there is no hope for human.

For seeing sheer stupidity and getting the crap scared out of you there's nothing that compares to being a locomotive engineer (driver, motorman etc.), freight or passenger and almost hitting and actually hitting cars, semi's, pickups, pedestrians, bicyclists, dogs, children, cows, houses (yes that's correct, a friend went right through a two story house some guys were moving illegally which had gotten high-centered on the rails), RV's, joggers between the rails, people taking selfies, cars driving around the gates, people walking around the gates talking on their phones etc. etc. etc. many of which I've done 8 or 9 times and if I haven't done it one of my friends has...its awful.
