Toasted Ravioli is a St. Louis specialty as it is deep fried ravioli, seasoned, and served with marinara sauce. My apologies on behalf of the St. Louis City SC fans for thinking you know what a Toasted Ravioli is. Keep it coming, best Football reactions on KZbin!

I think this is exactly what everyone in St. Louis wanted, from front office to fans. All the fans knew we weren’t gonna compete in leagues cup, though I wish we hadn’t been embarrassed so bad, but it was always a chance for the guys to rest and get back and win league games. And now we’re locked for the playoffs! Insane for a first year club!

Was a weird game. It was almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 celsius) at the start of the game here and very humid. You can tell by the end of the game the players were worn out which led to a ton of goals in the last 10 mins. Also, #11 (Nico Gioachinni) is probably my nominee for most improved player this year. I had a lot of doubts after Klauss got hurt and Nico got exposed, but he's really improved his game and learned to take on other roles at the front which has been critical to us continuing to be successful with Klauss.

The "pie" on his head is a Toasted Ravioli. It's actually fried breaded meat (usually) ravioli. Popularized in a neighborhood called the Hill. 5 players on the 1950 US World Cup team that beat England, were from there.

Bangso, Love your enthusiasm. If you'd told me as a kid there'd be a 22,000-seat stadium 5 miles from my home w/ a team to call my own, I'd have called you crazy. There wasn't even a league to speak of in the U.S. after the demise of the N.A.S.L. Crazy how time flies ; Love everything about the team except for the color scheme that lies somewhere on the spectrum btwn pink and salmon. Love to see the club highlight the navy blue and reduce the red in future kits ; It'd be amazing to have you here! Hopefully, you boost your subscriber and Patreon base! Not sure if you're attending Uni, but there are some great universities here (St. Louis Univ., Washington Univ. in St. Louis). Webster Univ. has a great global presence. Attended 1 match this year: amazing atmosphere. I was one of 60,000 to put a $50 deposit down for 20,000 season tix. (I wasn't chosen). I'm waiting for Carolyn Kindle (only female owner in MLS) to announce a women's club, as well. There's plenty of interest. Love the squad's anonymity. Quality everywhere. Eduard Lowen, our MF maestro, Adeniran, and Giaocchini don't have the name recognition of Mukhtar or Vela, but this squad is balanced (except defense!): built for a playoff run. p.s. Among the many delicacies that define St. Louis's cuisine, toasted ravioli stands out for some bizarre reason. Waves of Italian immigrants brought their cuisine to the St. Louis neighborhood called "The Hill" during the early 20th Cent., ravioli included. However, it's not American, if it's not drenched in hot oil, hence "toasted" ravioli, or, more accurately, deep-fried ravioli! That's what the dude is wearing on his head in the stands! T-Rav is more of a comic, culinary quirk than something most people have actually tried! Our other culinary quirks? Paper-thin pizza that tastes like cardboard smothered in cheese, and frozen custard (like soft-serve ice cream!) Oh, yeah, there's also the "St. Paul Sandwich," an egg foo young patty w/ mayonnaise on white bread. Why mayonnaise and white bread? Because Chinese immigrants here in the middle 20th Cent. who owned restaurants realized they had to devise something on the menu that Americans were actually familiar with ; As you can imagine, it's hard to lose weight in St. Louis ;

@@rhombus0ne Rhombus, I totally respect your feelings. Yet ; bc I'm on the spectrum (self-diagnosed), I require emotional and sensory equilibrium in order to survive. I'm eternally grateful to Carolyn Kindle - who's altered the lives of all soccer-loving St. Louisans in the most transformative way imaginable. Nonetheless ; there's something off about our color for me, i.e., neurobiologically off. I love Miami's pure pink jerseys - they're the final nail in the coffin of color essentialism as it relates to gender! But, I don't get ours. Is it salmon? No. Pink. Again, no. Rose? Not really. In order for a color to feel organic, it needs to reflect an actual color that exists in the world; otherwise, my brain can't process it correctly. Sky blue, aqua, bright yellow, and forest green all reflect colors that actually exist in nature. Ours ("City Red") doesn't exist anywhere except on the torsos of the City players who wear them. I don't know where that color's from. It makes my brain hurt ; Yet, I'm happy to have a team to support. In truth, I wanted Kindle to adopt the colors of her co-owner, Jim Kavanagh's now-defunct club, St. Louis FC: pure navy blue and kelly green, beautiful complimentary colors. Then again, it could be worst. I can't imagine supporting Austin FC... their jerseys make me want to gouge my eyes out w/ a steak knife! 😁

Part of the reason why St. Louis city has such a full house all the time is, this is their first year as a club. They are the shiny new toy in town, and the sitting atop the Western Conference with one of the best teams in all of MLS. Plenty of reasons to go. They also made the stadium way too small when they were planning to build it… They didn’t expect that St. Louis city would become instantly one of the most popular teams in the entire league. They only made the stadium capable of holding 22,500. There’s been games this year where there has been weightless over 65,000 names long on reserve waiting for tickets. Now that they realize that the stadium is way too small, there’s nothing they can do because the way it was constructed, and the place where it it was constructed does not allow for any meaningful expansion of the stadium.

Lmao, you think we’re gonna stop caring when we’ve had a team for five years, ten years? Fat chance. Also the stadium being small helps the atmosphere-it’s ALWAYS gonna be packed, and every seat is a good one.
@gracielynn9623
@gracielynn9623 10 ай бұрын
@@jpl02192 again… I didn’t say I couldn’t expand at all, I said, no meaningful expansion. In the grand scheme of things when you look at what goes on with stadiums all the time, 2000 seats is really not much at all.
@gracielynn9623
@gracielynn9623 10 ай бұрын
@@rhombus0ne it helps the atmosphere, but it sucks for large families trying to get tickets. And it’s not that you will stop caring in 5-10 years, but slowly the attendance and the demand for tickets will go down. It’s inevitable. It’s that way with 20 out of the 29 teams. every other team in the league said they would never have a decline many years down the road. Over half of them have. It’s just a fact of life on the American sports scene.
