That second pen was defo a pen as he fully pushed him with his arm/elbow (you can see the distinct motion of the defender using his elbow), he wasn’t just using his body to “nudge” him out. It was a foul. Maybe Aziel sold it well but it was still a foul regardless. Edit: I think the ref wasn’t necessarily at fault when he initially awarded it to just be a goal kick because from his angle he probably didn’t see the distinct arm movement.

Klauss had a set back before the game. He was looking ready to be back before this game and was feeling good but for the second time in his recovery he sprinted and his quad tightened up.

For those who don’t know, the reason that Franco, the dynamo player, almost got red carded was because we threw Gioachinni on the ground during a fight.

St. Louis Post Dispatch had an article today stating Klauss is out two more weeks, and will be re-evaluated at that time. That could mean even more time thereafter. But out two more weeks is best case scenario.

i dont know why they didnt show it in the highlights, but basically there was a fight between blom and a houston dynamo player, and franco came behind giochini and shoved him down. this made the ref pull a red card, but then changed it to a yellow. the fans booed franco for the rest of the game. please correct me if i got some of the players wrong.

For me the first penalty was weak, but the D has to be more careful in the box. Second pen the defender checked Jackson in the back - didn't quite qualify as an aggressive shoulder-to-shoulder. Someone broke my arm this way in practice when I was a kid, checked me in the back from behind and I broke my arm trying to break the fall. Dangerous. Klaus was supposed to be back a few weeks ago but is still recovering. Haven't heard an update in a presser or anything recently.

Last comment I swear but I believe the 2nd was definitely a penalty, Jackson didnt even have the ball and he went in from behind, there’s an obvious difference from shoulder to shoulder to push someone off the ball vs charging over someone behind who doesn’t even have the ball

I am a City fan, but I do think both penalties were soft and could easily not been given. The penalty against Jackson is close for me, but he did use just his shoulder and I think the difference is Jackson is just not as strong. Parker gave a similar nudge on the Houston player at 3:41 and even extends his arm. I was worried that would be a penalty at the time. But the Dynamo player was strong and stayed on his feet. Had he fallen down it may have gotten a review too. But, I give a lot of credit to the City players forcing the defenders to make tough plays that led to the penalty calls.
