Outstanding choices. I know one that scares the crap out of me like mo other. It's in KZbin as Cougar Encounter in Utah, mountain lion stalks me for 6 minutes. This young man went out to run for exercise on what appears to be an old logging road that sees almost no vehicle traffic, making it a great place for a walk or run and likely used by a fair few people for that purpose. Animals often use the same clear areas, leading to occasional meetings. Stick with the video, it takes him a moment to get the camera aimed at this mad mother. It makes my blood run cold. The 15 or so lunges she takes at him could make you pee a little. Oh, and he's on foot and all alone. Pop on some bladder protection and enjoy! Cheers from sunny Tampa Florida Lisa Watson Harris

Do NOT run from predators, it will automatically trigger a prey response in most large predators (notice the tiger ran as soon as the car drove off in the #2 clip). With bears the best bet is to make your presence known by yelling, hoping your not near cubs, and hoping the bear isn't that hungry. Slowly backing up isn't the worst idea but running is. Black bears tend to be much easier to deal with than Brown/Grizzly Bears, and a polar bear is one of the few predators known to actively hunt humans.

As part of it I was envouraged to walk around them, sit by them, talk to them to let them get used to my scent. The only thing between me and the animal was basically fencing. You MUST never put your hands on the fence or lean directly on it..claws and teeth come through. But there is something EXTREMELY humbling when a full grown male tiger stands on it's hind legs in front of you only 2 inches away. Sometimes I think this is why women tend to live longer than men. Giant carnivore heading right at you, the only sane situation is to GTFO. Not laugh and insist it is all fine and try to wait around. Not saying my gender doesn't do stupid things, but only a few of us have the 'gotta prove how tough and brave I am' and have the sense to leave stupidly dangerous situations if we can. (That doesn't count when booze or drugs get involved though. At that point, a gal can go insane too. But most of us don't get caught poking the proverbial bee hive with a stick just to 'see what happens next'! Or at least did until idiots on IG decided to join the crazy train. But those I desperately want to believe are in the minority.) Maybe it's because guys tend towards being stronger, maybe the testosterone, maybe that need to be alpha but sheesh. I am a tall woman who knows how to fight. But unless it's a situation I ~have~ to deal with, I'm gonna exit stage left when the shit starts to hit the fan. This isn't necessarily true. Most bear attacks are territorial in nature unless the bear is starving. What actions you take is dependent on the bear. If a black bear is attacking or charging (such as in this video), it is recommended that you make yourself as big and loud as possible. If a grizzly (brown bear) is attacking, it is recommended that you make yourself small, protect your neck and head, and play dead (essentially, make yourself as non threatening as possible). If it's a polar bear and you don't have a shotgun or rifle, you're fucked.

I've heard Safaris can be quite exploitative of animals. e.g. Cheetahs are less predatory of humans than lions, tigers or leopards. That being said, they become used to our presence in open, windowless vehicles. Thus, they regularly jump onto, and even into vehicles, and lay there, using the vehicle as a vantage point. But what is not good is that poachers and hunters can easily pick them off as the cheetahs become desensitized to humans, not to mention they are still unpredictable wild animals. Their seemingly docile behavior could lead to overconfidence on the part of humans which could end in tragedy, particularly if children, who sound like prey, are present.

I saw on a documentary once. The African elephants in one area were used to seeing human tourist but sometimes the bull elephants (males) will assert their dominance by postering and charging even if they don't intend to harm. Especially during mating season when they get more aggressive. They can also all get aggressive when they have baby elephants around they feel are being threatened but usually they don't feel as threatened by humans if they are in a tourist area where they see them alot.
The reason why the guy and the car in The last video No 1 with the rhino didn’t leave is because when they are on tours like that and two cars are there they let one car get down the road a bit before going themselves so if anything does happen like someone gets hurt or the vehicle damaged they can help the second car out /save passengers …you could also see the second car in the tiger video too A lot of the tours in Africa are on private estates where the animals roam free but there are also those dumb bounty hunters who will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to do tours too and come home with skins ect …it gross

As far as Gorillas go, DO NOT make eye contact, stand your ground but just don't make eye contact or it'll kill you :( It's just as dangerous to approach a wild herbivore as it is a carnivore, after all they're constantly out evolving each other Over millions of years. I'm not sure what to do in the even of a Bear attack, if you've not got repellant or a big fucking gun, but I know one thing. Get between a Mother bear and her Cubs and that's that, you're done. You should check out the Lion Whisperer. First video I was was at first scarier than the Tiger part of this video, as it was 2 female Lions charging at the camera (Female Lions do the hunting) Twist of course was that they were the guys 2 very best friends and all they were doing was racing each other to decide which of them could hug him first. :) This guy rolls around with full grown Lions, sticks his head in their mouths, everything. He's got dozens of big cats of all kinds, but I recall he said the Panther (Clouded Leopard) is the most sinister of them all lol, wanting his space and not as friendly as the others. Hyenas too, he's literally on first name terms with a whole pack, even taking them by surprise only to be hugged. :D

A few things here. That first guy with the bear, ya no sympathy here. He was there to kill it, just so happens the bear had the same idea. Elephants can definitely kill (commonly a male in musth or a female with a calf) but there are warnings, which this elephant was definitely giving. I highly recommend checking out the Wild Earth YT channel. They do live safaris twice daily and the animals welfare is put first. The animals are habituated to the vehicles so you get some amazing sightings (today had the rare sighting of mating leopards) without angering them. WE doesn't show any rhinos due to poaching risk even though there are anti poaching teams working the area. There are times however that I can't help but feel that the animal is being intruded upon, usually when they are following them off road. That bothers me a bit at times.

In Africa you need to trust your Professional Hunter. The requirements in training and testing for a license are strict in most countries and they know way more about the animals than we ever will. They recognize a "false charge" and what actions and when are likely to trigger a real charge. I've seen them never even lift a rifle to ready position when a Bull Elephant "false charged" and start backing up and withdrawing when the danger was not at all obvious to me. If you choose to go into one of these situations trusting your Professional Hunter is the best option to keep you alive.

Rhinos have very poor eyesight. If you do not more or make a sound, they may go away. Running away from animals provokes the chase response.

Thing about Elephants and Rhinos are they are very temper mental at times. The last one with the Rhino, they should have just left the area as soon as they noticed the Rhino telling them to leave and not stayed like they did.

I think of all the animals they showed, rhinos are the ones I'd most like to avoid. It seems like once they decide to attack, they embody the IDGAF attitude.

Exploitative of the animals? Did you not see the safari guy pointing his high power rifle at the head of the elephant? This is exploitation. Take paying customers into a wild or managed wildlife area just so they can take pictures, and then encroach on their space to a point that the animal feels threatened and attacks, only to be killed? If this is NOT exploitation, I would love to know what is.

Elephants like that know what guns are, and in places there are a lot of poachers they will attack anyone they see with a gun. Ones like that one learned that a PH will shoot to protect so they will back down when they realize it isn't someone endangering them. iirc and this is the same vid. it was a Cape Buffalo hunt and they suddenly found themselves facing the angry elephant. Cape Buff are nothing to dismiss either, and Hippo is the big animal that causes the most death.

I hated this. Leave them alone. Stay away unless you are there to help them.

Damn nature you scary! I honestly would never get close to a situation where anything but clip 1 could be possible. Also, elephant absolutely knows what that gun is capable of, they were counting on it's intelligence.

These people are absolutely nuts! My thrill is being chased by a farm animal. I’m not doing that wild shit.
