I'm Czech and I'd like to explain something. This song was created by a Czech team and therefore it is created from a Czech point of view. The colour purple symbolises imperialism and power - in this case the Putin regime. The "crown" from the Czech perspective represents sovereignty, freedom and ownership of one's country. Thus, in the song, it represents Ukrainian sovereignty over its own territory. The lyrics of the song refer to the fact that this symbolic 'crown' was taken away from Ukraine by Russia. Sisterhood means that the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and other countries support Ukraine and are trying to draw attention to its struggle, because we all refuse to be servants of the Russian regime. The woman in blue represents Russia (for us Czechs, she embodies the Russian Marfusha from Father Frost (Morozhko 1964) - the most popular Russian fairy tale broadcast every Christmas on Czech TV) and the guy in purple (aka the symbol of imperialism, aka Putin) feeds her Ukrainian borscht and she enjoys it. The symbolism here is that Putin is giving the Russians a piece of Ukraine, they like it and want more. It is a symbol of how the Russian regime has warped the minds of many Russians. The two little girls playing with dolls represent us, the Western Slavs, their play probably symbolizes their peacefulness, but maybe in a way also their naivety, but even if they are not attacked by purple guys with guns, they are attacked by the TV, which represents propaganda (that's why they have screens on their heads) The girl in red surrounded by the boys in purple represents Ukraine (behind her we can see the motifs of the Ukrainian colours), she is surrounded and attacked by them. You can see that at one point they form a star around her (probably a communist star), but she breaks away. The girl who looks in the mirror and is made up is also a Ukrainian, I believe, who is trying to improve herself, but then she is surprised/attacked by the imperialist guy and she is forced to dye herself red (shedding Ukrainian blood) to get the guy to come back. The characters had to be so subtle because of Eurovision's rules about political motives, but because of that there is a risk that they could be misunderstood, which seems to have happened here.

thank you for explaining in so much detail its such a shame that this didn't finish higher but I think there was a lot of misinterpretation of this song and this cost it a lot of public votes as the public vote for this was very low but I think that's because there were people putting out that the message of this song was basically the complete opposite of the true meaning, I definitely believe that if it was more widely known what the real message was the public vote would have been a lot higher and so would the resulting position of this. Thank you for putting the real message out there. I think this deserved to finish a lot higher 1 because of the message 2 because its a better song than many of the songs that finished above it 3 the band put in a better performance/show than many of the bands above it.

sorry for late reply but, i viewed the feeding of the borsch as putin feeding russia the propaganda, but this theory is so much better!

@@davidos6214I actually thought the same as you, since the borscht in my opinion looks very different from what my grandmother taught us to make (from northwest of Kyiv) and looks more like Russian borscht, and that member eating it is actually from Russia but has lived many years in CZ, but I also agree that the OPs explanation is a really great one as well

Hi, i just wanted to say that I love watching your videos because I know that u see more in that music. I also wanted to tell u mine concept of that video as a member of one of those countries represented in that video. All of this i about a couple of south europe countries, which are now fighting against the aggression from russia. There is a war against ‘em for 1,5. We all try to join forces together to survive and win against them. And btw. these dudes in tvs on their heads, represents propaganda from Russia, which is shown a lot in media. I hope that now, u will look at that from another perspective;)) Bye, love u

The spoonfeeding is also propaganda, there is BLA on the spoon, in vermicelli. She is the "russian civilians" that are being fed propaganda. The purple men are the Russian government. Red lady is Ukraine.
