Angle loves it because he knows it's the right kind of heat, and in that specific instance was obviously being done out of love. I think he even said at that return promo he really missed it.

The story of the "You Suck" chant is honestly hilarious. It started super early in his career in a feud with Edge because Edge told the crowd to yell "you suck" at Kurt when he came out and it just stuck. Kurt has said that it did bother him at first but quickly embraced it because it's a perfect moment of crown connection. Fast forward to I think it was 2003 and Kurt had been out for many many months with an injury. When he came back the crowd was so genuinely happy to see him, they didn't do the "you suck." Kurt stopped his entrance and went back up the ramp and refused to come down until the crowd did it right. From that moment on, for this very specific thing and only for Kurt, "you suck" became the crowds way of saying "we love you." They even did it at Kurt's Hall of Fame induction. Kurt loves it.

Angle launched a t-shirt line with the words ‘You Suck’ printed across the front in bold. This was supposed to be directed at his opponents saying that they don’t have his level of skill and accomplishment. However, the fans turned on Angle and began chanting ‘You Suck’ at him instead. This became a regular thing once fans realized the chant synchronized with his entrance music.

I remember when I was a trainer back in around 2002 (a lot of grey hair ago), Triple H and Chyna visited our gym while they were in Houston, I was training a client and two of my coworkers approached me after my session and asked if I had noticed who had just walked past me. LOL, it was Triple H and Chyna, and I was so absorbed in my session that I never noticed them. I don't know how you can miss two moving tree trunks but apparently I did.

I'm a VERY old school wrestling fan, going back to the 1960s. I'm not a WWF/WWE fan. I watch AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling primarily. Chris Jericho is indeed in AEW, and is the current Ring of Honor World Champion. The Hardys are also in AEW. CM Punk was recently in AEW also, and you should check out the crowd reaction when he made his debut last year. Stephanie McMahon and her husband, Triple H, are running WWE now, since Vince stepped down following the uncovering of the scandal he was involved in earlier this year. Shane McMahon has nothing to do with WWE currently. It's a shame you probably no nothing about the history and heritage of British pro wrestling with its unique rules and format, with British legends like Johnny Saint, Mark Rocca, Shirley Crabtreet, Adrian Street, Danny Collins, Giant Haystacks, the Dynamite Kid and many others. I use to see the Rock's dad, Rocky Johnson, regularly in St. Louis during the territorial era of pro wrestling here in the U.S. and Canada. One of the great spectacles in pro wrestling is New Japan's annual show in the 50,000-seat domed stadium, the Tokyo Dome, every January 4, called Wrestle Kingdom. AEW will be coming next year to the UK, with a show at Craven Cottage. AEW is owned by Tony Khan and his father, Shadid Khan, who also own Fulham FC and the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL.

@michaelmcgowen8780
@michaelmcgowen8780 Жыл бұрын
I've been a wrestling fan since the 1960's. Believe me, the TRUE Golden Age of pro wrestling was the 1970's, not the 1990's. Before Vince took WWF national in 1984, there were nearly 30 full-time territorial promotions operating in the United States and Canada. Most were members of the National Wrestling Alliance, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, and all recognized the NWA World Champion, who travelled from territory to territory defending that championship. Each territory had its own weekly tv program and, in total, employed roughly 2,500 full-time wrestlers. Each territory ran regular arena shows every week or two (St. Louis, for example, had shows at Kiel Auditorium every other week), with combined attendance for all the territories estimated at roughly 25 million per year. Wrestlers didn't change names or character when moving from one territory to another, and titles were often recognized outside of trhe territories they belonged to. Vince McMahon destroyed that system, costing people jobs and causing territoris to go out of businessand bankrupting most of the other promoters, just to make himself extremely wealthy. By 1990, only two of the old territories were still operating, WWF/WWE (the old Northestern US territory) and WCW (which had been the Mid-Atlantic territory headquartered in Charlotte, NC).

LOL This stuff is so fake! I was in the promo biz, mostly rock n roll, we occasionally promoted these "fights". One night back in a locker room two managers were discussing who was going to win. One fighter even called to say he missed his flight and wouldn't make it. No big deal. They just messed with the line up a bit to accommodate that. The fights in the stands were real, the ring, no way. Some of those moves for real would grievously injure or even kill somebody. I've been right by ring side and those body slams and "hits" intentionally miss the other guy. You could see it plain as day. This was back in Hulk Hogan & Andre the Giant days. Can't imagine it's changed one bit. ;0)
@KairiPrime
@KairiPrime Жыл бұрын
Everyone who watches it knows that it's scripted. This is news to literally no one. That's not why we watch it. Do you watch a TV show or a movie and then bitch about it being fake? No, you watch it because it's entertaining and you come to care about the characters. It's the same thing in wrestling. Also, just because it's scripted doesn't mean it's not dangerous. People still suffer serious injury and some have even died in the ring. In the words of the Undertaker. "On any night we're about three inches away from being killed. You have to know what you're doing giving and taking these moves because just one mistake can kill you or you could kill someone else. The risk is real and the pain is very real. To anyone that says the wrestling is fake, tell that to my 20 surgeries I've had in my career."
@bintheredonethat
@bintheredonethat Жыл бұрын
@@KairiPrimeUnderstand all that. Of course it's dangerous. So's a lot of other things, like kickboxing. I know the fighters go through a school before they're allowed in the ring. They have be trained. If they weren't a lot these guys would be crippled or dead. I was pointing it out because I've had numerous people swear to me that it was totally real. Even when I explained to them that I'm talking from a point of personal experience. Having actually been involved in these, they still wouldn't believe me. Frankly I don't care what anyone thinks when it comes to these fights. People should understand, however, that reality & illusion aren't the same thing. Which apparently you understand. It's like knowing a good magician or illusionist isn't really defying the laws of physics. It can be fun when they make you think they are. It is entertainment. Be that as it may, I find it to be an odd form of entertainment. I don't watch it. If other people like this stuff more power to ya. This is America, land of the any means to be entertained country. Hollywood's success proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. BTW. I can't remember the last time I watched TV. I have a TV. Every once in a while I turn it on to see if it still works. I mostly read books. The fake adventure, thriller, horror ones. And check out channels like this for fun. ;o)

@@bintheredonethat I promise you that a good 90% of people that enjoy wrestling understand that it isn't real and most of us are sick to death of people going 'omg it's so fake guys I can't believe you watch this.' Yes we know it's not real. Hell I knew that from way back in 98 when I first started watching it at 13 years old. We watch it because it's a totally unique form of physical storytelling that can actually be very captivating. To understand better than I could ever explain I'd suggesting watching a coupe videos.
