There runway melted at 40 C, in India our runways has been running for years even though temp goes above 45 C in summer

Was in Spain in Granada a few years ago..it was 45 deg and 40 in most cities. Had no clue Europe could be so hot....

Runway melted. They should have it used better materials. It's common in india to reach 45+ degree celcius for 1-2 months in many cities. But we never hear runway melted. I can understand homes are designed for cold so in moderate heat they become furnace. But Runway is outdoor installation. They should have used a material which can withstand extreme heat or cold aswell.
