Those songs would be difficult for 10 people.... yet they've managed two of the most iconic Phantom of the Opera songs with just two people.... That is an impressive feat.

The fact that they are not wearing gloves trigger me so much
@Craspic2 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that it's not uncommon for solo ringers not to wear gloves. I think it has something to do with the frenetic bell changes that have to be done.

I can't believe this! Simon wasn't coherent........such a wonderful pair and well done!!!!!!!! So, bell ringing is beyond his comprehension. He knows nothing about the effort and musicianship involved with bell ringing. Try it sometime, Simon.

4:26 Too many bells? How many bells was he expecting?
@hatorigirl12027 жыл бұрын
The song was hard they did a fine job, but it was a little sloppy, especially with the bells hitting something while being dampened. I'm assuming either the beads on Gay's shirt or Alan's lavalier. It was so distracting and tingy and just felt like something a bell player should be more aware of.

Ashwini Tittawella Not if you polish the bells after each time you play. That's how we did it in my college's concert choir, and it makes it much easier to grip the bells, esp if you're changing bells quickly like they are :)
@jacklogansmith76467 жыл бұрын
Ashwini Tittawella Gloves were worn to protect leather bell handles. Nowadays, bells tend to have plastic handles, rendering that protection unnecessary. There's still the matter of polishing the bells to deal with any accidental fingerprints, but it makes changing bells (and turning pages) so much easier. My college bell choir doesn't wear gloves for these reasons. We are always asked about it whenever we perform.
@tissue50397 жыл бұрын
Gloves are worn not to protect just the handles, especially if you're not careful you might touch the casting and because of the sweat a hand produces, it might rust
@jacklogansmith76467 жыл бұрын
Aria Noir Which is why we do polish these bells. You end up being careful when you realize that you will be polishing it.
