Sometimes, having such difficulty, with the friend beside, allows a person to grow well, balanced into what he was meant to do, and able to handle the difficulties ahead, critique, criticism and maintain a personal balance without becoming haughty, egotistical and arrogant. That's how hard it is EVEN IF YOU"RE NAILING IT (which these two clearly are) Every time you see someone bomb on this kind of program, think of the intensity, and how different it is from their rehearsal space, or singing in front of their friends, and you'll realize that the few who make it through are REALLY SPECIAL. It was a packed high school auditorium with 710 approximate people, with a timed talent show consisting of 50 contenders, meaning I had 2 minutes to impress the people, and get the 5 judges, who were mostly people I didn't know, unanimous decision for my selected win. I ended up winning Most Talented Host/Performer and Best Musical Talent for the second year consecutive...

I always love watching the first audition of Jonathan and Charlotte, not just because of the fantastic voice of Jonathan. It is so touching how supportive Charlotte was of the shy boy. She was the reason he was there on stage and when he had his false start the way he looked to her and she encouraged him was so sweet. This is still one of my favourite first auditions ever along with Susan Boyle. The old don't judge a book by it's cover and have preconceptions comes to mind. I think many forget how young they both were in this first audition.

2012 caught me at a bad place in life, but this show restored life to my lungs! The Loveable Rogues will always have a special place in my heart! Whenever I hear them sing on my iTunes mixes that are sent to me they always take me to a happy place! I also love how Jonathan and Charlotte broke through all the critics although their relationship didn't stand the test of time. Such is life!

It pissed me off in the first performance how Simon kept dissing Charlotte. She was CRYING for a reason, and not just out of happiness for their good performance. They clearly should stay a duo, and Simon might've damaged their relationship a bit. Johnathon was already shy, and making his partner lack confidence is a stupid move.
