Haha I love it! And the reason I'm laughing is because I'm just about to upload dash cam footage from the same road but in the other direction! :D We really need to do a colab on a timetable challenge sometime! Hey, I think I even passed a Shiel Bus enroute! :) Great video Scott - again you find the best public transport!

Used to be known as the fish box route when Mallaig was a big herring fishing port. Sections of the road ised to be turned into skating rinks from spilled fish bree.

It would be really nice to see you try the spine route in the Outer Hebrides - all the way from Castlebay on Barra to Stornaway. Pre-pandemic it used to be possible to do it in a day (albeit a very, very long day sat on a multitude of minibuses) and it probably still is, but must be a fantastic trip taking in CalMac ferries as well. Keep up the videos - always interesting to see!

Lovely vid, just missing a few things: price (vs. recent train journey? Just to give us an idea); map, I have a general idea, but seeing a map without having to search would be great

Found your channel a few weeks ago while looking on KZbin and honestly really been enjoying your videos, I'm not into buses but the ride was enjoyable but even myself would take the train to ride this line. lovely video.

Love the video - you might find the UK's longest bus route (ie not a Megabus-style limited stop inter city route), the Citylink 915 from Glasgow to Uig interesting as well!

The most scenic bus journey i took was about 10 years ago from Stornoway down to Tarbet on the Isle of Harris. Its a coach you catch from the seafront with a lot of the journey on single lane roads.

Thanks for the tip. In actual fact, I had already heard about it, but you've confirmed it. I'll be going next year. Would you like to advise other most scenic bus routes?

Awsome video just wondering if I could ask what the route number of the bus that you took was? You have inspired me to film the route for my own channel

There are a load of routes that I would argue were more scenic most obvious being Glasgow to Uig on Skye which has Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, Loch Linnhe, the Great Glen, Loch Garry (the Loch shaped like Scotland), Loch Cluanie down to the coast to Eilean Donan Castle, Skye Bridge and the whole of Skye. Then there is the road over the top to Glenelg or out to Ardnamurchan both sadly are one per day so you end up getting stuck there. There are buses up to Durness and Lochinver as well which i can't vouch for as i've never been up that way (I'm in the Fort) but I'm sure its stunning.

I didn't know about that bus but I've walked a bit of it from Mallaig to Morrar and done the train too.I think that a Scottish City Link might run along there too and comes from/goes to either Edinburgh or Glasgow. It is very scenic and I remember waiting at Morrar station,I think it was in a February, and you could see Eigg and Rhum and to top it all Venus, Jupiter and the crescent Moon above them!

Very nice. There is a good bus trip from From Rothesay to Dunoon you stay on the bus as it goes on to the CalMac Frey at Rhubodach to Colintravie. I have done this three times and I have been lucky with the weather

That road is very improved these days, much of it used to be single track. Back when I used the bus along there, there was no regular bus between Morar (near Mallaig) and Corpach (near Fort William), other than maybe at school times. However there was a special summer only "heatherhopper" bus that ran a couple of times a week between Mallaig and Aviemore that I caught.

Hi. Not sure if this has been covered before, but the Shiel Bus route 506 from Fort William to Kilchoan is pretty impressive, and only 1 service each direction each day. Maybe there's a loop back through Mull to Oban to save a night in a tent!

I'd argue that the Tim Dearman bus that used to run from Inverness to Durness in the summer is the most scenic route, but I'm not sure it runs anymore, so this is a great alternative.
