It was truly moving and inspiring to hear your story Lewis, some people don't make it back when they've had half the challenges you had as a youngster, massive respect for changing your outlook as well as your life bud. I wish you nothing but good things and success in everything you do from here on in both professionally and personally. I have no doubt when the time is right you'll have a healthy and happy loving relationship with your boy and I'm sure he'll be nothing other than proud of his dad. Keep on moving forward bud and keep on with the youngsters, if you only change one person's attitude you'll change the life of one but the journey of a whole family. 👍❤

Brilliant. Fascinating story, inspiring person. And what a gem his mother is. What lessons Lewis teaches us all. There is no divide in society. We are all people. And we should all be able to put things to bed, and/or have an opportunity to put things right, after the event. Where there is a will there is a way. These lads have backgrounds and Trauma that are not their fault. And that can be healed (the neuroplasticity of the brain and Epigenetics; I have even seen a presentation by renowned Clinician Bessel Van Der Kolk which showed a lad fully recovered from his ADHD (video footage of which was shown from his childhood - and it was violent) after he’d had Trauma intervention, treatment that was right for him (there are many different modalities/methods) and support). I also think women need to support men in better ways. There is a lot of scope clearly coming out of a need for this. A coming together of minds. It is people like Lewis who help to show how communities can come together. Not Judges, and CCTV prosecutions - a downward spiral. Another fantastic interview. Thanks for giving these fellas a platform Dodge. They are more than deserving of it. Those in the authorities and rehabilitation can learn an awful lot about how society can be knitted together for the greater good from these fine lads who set a fine example, often against a backdrop of bias. It has really opened my eyes up to those who have served time. Respect and best wishes.

Sadly far to many will not seize the early opportunity to change the path they're starting on, after listening to your story there is no doubt that you will be able to steer at least a few in the right direction, all they need is a light at the start of the tunnel instead of the end when its all to often to late, well done mate I wish you well 👍

What an incredible heartbreaking as well as inspirational story, some parents really don't realise how they can shape and screw up their kids lives during those early years. From what I hear in this though Lewis wouldn't put the blame on anyone but himself but there definitely are other culpable people in this story. I'm so pleased he's through the other side of the dark tunnel he went through and now is achieving things that most people can only dream of. Massive respect Lewis and all best wishes for your strongman future and once again Dodge, you've knocked it out the ballpark mate . 👍⚒⚒⚒

As someone diagnosed with adult ADHD (as common as it is now) I consider myself lucky I didn’t end up going down the wrong path, I wasn’t diagnosed until last year, but I can understand how someone could end up in a disastrous position. Thank the lord I had firm parents, close friends and teachers that could see the better side of me that painfully invested their time into growing me…If you knew my career path you would be astounded by how a disruptive, cocky, gobby kid could end up in such an positive position. From the first 5 minutes of this podcast I related to this story! Just remember people, you do have control of you life and things can and will get better if you want it to truly happen… ☺️

@rstevens7711 Жыл бұрын
The court reporting at the time, and the judge's comments, don't support some of what has been said. The reference to the female breaking her leg was from a different incident. She wasn't there when he nearly killed the lad and left him with permanent brain damage. Packham, and two others, followed the girl and her boyfriend from a party and he attacked the boy and pushed the girl over and broke her ankle. The other 2 also assaulted the male. This was a different incident to the one he has mentioned here. For the assault on the girl and her boyfriend the judge described Packham as showing no remorse whatsoever. He has been very successful since he left prison. The wider community should be pleased that he appears to be no longer a threat to them. But I'm not sure that he shows full responsibility for what he did. Was it really '6 of one, half a dozen the other?' Not according to court reports. The court reports and newspaper reports and witness statements indicate that Packham was a small-town bully. Most bullies just annoy people and make other citizens shy away from them. Packham didn't do that as a young man. He physically bullied and intimidated innocent people. Even his stories of prison life seem to indicate he liked the reputation he thinks he had. I hope he has changed.

seven weeks earlier, Packham, 19, had unleashed another attack on a complete stranger - punching a man and pushing his girlfriend to the ground, causing her to break her ankle. This week, Packham starting a 10-year jail term for his vicious crimes. Bournemouth Crown Court heard how Packham “was out looking for a fight” when he attacked Mr Tuckwell on the night of July 8 last year. The victim was walking home when he was knocked to the ground by Packham, who punched him twice.
