Hey 🙂. I’m from the UK and I found the topic of Britbox so interesting that it encouraged me to make my first (proper) KZbin video reviewing it. It’s really refreshing as an American that you’ve taken an interest. I HIGHLY recommend Bad Girls (it heavily influenced Orange Is The New Black, but it’s more gruesome/realistic). The complete DVD box set of this series cost more than the yearly subscription so it was enough to encourage me to commit for a whole year. Other recommendations: * How Not to Live your life (funniest thing I’ve seen in my life) * This Is England (86,88 & 90) * Peep Show I’m looking forward to watching Time too.

Hi I am Elizabeth jo dewey, I love britbox. I am out of work because of seizures. And Mrs. Browns boys and father brown and all the other comedies and mysteries I love. As they laughter is good medicine for the soul. I could never give it up.😅

If you have watched a lot of Brit tv shows, getting Britcom may be boring unless you really really want to watch them again, i.e. Poirot, Marple, QI, Death in Paradise, Are You Being Served. We got the yearly subscription and I'm sorry we did. After about 3 months there was very little we wanted to watch and there are very few new shows each month, I think I counted only 8 new shows for July, which included 2 more seasons of Poirot. Next time, unless there is something amazing, we will only do monthly.

Having subscribed to Britbox for many years. We enjoy Poirot, Miss Marple and of course Death in Paradise and Life on Mars,. There are so many more. At $7.00 per month it's a great deal.

I get Britbox usually 3 or 4 times a year, mainly to binge on Classic Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes. I love both of them and I never tire of watching them.

That's what I do. Usually when I want to watch Dr. Who I will start by subscribing to BritBox and Start with an Unearthly Child and watch every avialable serial right upto and including Survival. When I am don't with Survival I will cancell my Britbox subscription and swith to HBO Max and start watching New Who starting with Rose.

That's my plan. Gonna leverage Britbox for Classic Who to fill in all the gaps of serials I haven't seen.

@Lawrence Windrush Acorn has a lot of shows. If I compared both I would choose Acorn. I only subscribed to Britbox because of Death in Paradise. I find myself on Acorn most of the time.

I alternate my streaming services. Only a couple of months per service. I have Brit box right now as I got it on a sale for $1 a month for 2 months. But I’m in Australia and a lot of our services have British tv mixed in with them, so a couple of times a year is probably enough Brit box for me.

We like Britbox and Acorn, couple months a year each at this point, not sure there's enough at either to sustain a year sub. Usually pick up one at a time on special deal when we can at Amazon Prime, to catch up on new seasons (Acorn for 2 months at Prime Day this time around).

I watch both most of the time. Network TV is awful, too many commercials. I've also added PBS to the mix. They carry lots of programs my local PBS didn't purchase.

Since I'm not an app developer, here's an free idea for you out there. Make an app that allows users to schedule their resubscription and unsubscription (are those actual words?). That way, I can subscribe to Netflix for let's say three months, then unsubscribe and at the same time resubscribe to Disney+ for three months, and then to yet another streaming service without having to keep track of when I should cancel my subscription to avoid additional charges.

Britbox is British content. Acorn TV is British content, but inclusive of more of the United Kingdom than England. Britbox also shows British political events while Acorn TV does not.

A lot of services are aimed at at the very young like teenagers. Why they do that I don't know because who pays.? The adults pay teenagers don't have money yet they skimp on the ones who actually are paying for their service.

My wife and i grew up in England and emigrated to the U.S in 1980. We find many of the shows unwatchable because of the foul language .My mother always told me that cursing was the result of a poor education and judging by many of the modern shows on Britbox the English education system has completely broken down and now rivals the U.S for illiteracy.

My opinion is that britbox is waste of money. It seems british TV stopped evolving around 1980s. Every show is the same. Majority of the shows are about crime, no innovation at all. Nothing in SciFi, documentaties, or any intelligent content what so ever. Even the video controls on the app are pathetic. Badly designed and boring, monotonous content.
