The price on Indiegogo was at 325USD, but orders are no longer possible. For sure this product will be released in September at around 450-500 USD... Ouch... I stand correct, they want $699.00 USD and it's already sold out. Sorry, for this price I prefer to build my own, the power consumption with be a little higher but I can put whatever I need inside.

Maybe it’s too off topic. But you fail to explain why it is called Unraid, that is uses a very unique way of creating redundancy with the disks.

The website claims "The World-First 6-Bay Full SSD NAS Is Coming"; but ASUSTOR has the FLASHSTOR 6 FS6706T and the FLASHSTOR 12 Pro FS6712X. The ASUSTOR are "buyable" today.

Great but then add on the costs of the drives, as would normal with any other, gives another £600+ on it, so could be about £1000 depending on drives. I still like it being all SSD though, preferable to "spinning rust"!

Hmm Brian not something that I would need to use but it certainly looks to e a nice quality build. The only thing that would put me off a bit would be the cost of all those drives that you would need to install. I am just a bit confused as to why it needs two PCi Express drives and also the storage SSD's? Plus it also needs that upgrade stuff I am guessing to get more performance out of the unit.

Wondering whats unraid write speed going full ssds, with mechanical was around 30mb/s. Would it increase at least double with ssds having higher throughput?
