Please, WHAT is happening with the Edge browser last 2 months? It is freezing and not responsive for 1 or 2 minutes then works for 1 minute then freezing again. I though it was malware on my laptop but I did a scan and my laptop is clean. I tried my other laptop and the SAME problems with Edge being non responsive. then i tried my Win 10 x86 based tablet and the SAME problem. 2 weeks ago i bought a new MSI gaming laptop and once I set it up and opened Edge the SAME issue. It is driving me nuts. This can not happen in all 4 pcs. I'm using BRAVE browser for now and it is super fast. Does someone have a solution to this Edge issue?

webview 2 is for page rendering , if you remove it then web pages will not load and the browser because worthless

It is very important to have webview2 as removing it will create problems in apps like the photos app where you can't use the editing feature. You can remove normal edge for now with some scripts or programs.

yes, i said it before, now you can't manually update and it stays vulnerable for several days/weeks when edge has been updated with bug/security fixes. That's all that ms seems to do these days, make sure there are a multitude of vectors to make hackers lives easy.

I uninstalled it via Revo, also edge and then deleted Edges files manually using the other OS on my systems. Most things like teams etc... can be used through your phone any way.

Edge is the best browser.. as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure why people worry about removing it.

From my experience, you can uninstall Microsoft Edge (as in the browser app) using tools like Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable (my personal favourite tool 🔧 for this purpose), and your system should remain operational as this is something I have done numerous times and had no issues afterwards besides Windows Search (Bing Web Search) not being able to open in the Microsoft Edge browser app but will still display items in Windows Search itself. When it comes to Microsoft Edge WebView2 (Runtime), this SHOULD NEVER be uninstalled as like Britec says since it is a core component of many apps like Microsoft PowerToys (Preview), Microsoft Teams, Widgets (Windows 11), and many, many more. Hiding it is probably a good decision by Microsoft as it will stop people from being tempted to remove it and bricking their systems. Microsoft could have migrated it to the System Components page, but people can not be trusted not to use that as more of a reason to try and remove it.

I've always removed with Bye-Bye Edge and never had any problems

Microsoft's own PC Manager requires it; but after removing it, Webvcio2 doesn't appear in the task manage either. Yet I am still using Edge. Edit: reinstalling PC Manager from the Store restores Webview. Go figure!!

You need webview 2 to sync your iPhone if you have one, Apple Devices doesn’t run without it

Windows needs to stop getting in the way of the user. Give them back control over updates, give them off-line installer local account, stop forcing one-drive and edge, stop the massive telemetry and advertisements, stop the bloatware apps no one wants, stop burying things under multiple menu's and bring back the simplicity of the control panel. I went over to Apple because I got fed up with Windows. I can do everything I want that Windows can do without all the nonsense. Mac Mini's are cheap and do everything you want (except gaming) and are super powerful. For everything else there is the Windows and Linux VM's on my Synology NAS. I'm not coming back to Windows until it goes back to a similar Windows 7 experience.

Hi Thanks for this and the video is great but in case someone else copes along this path please note I tried everything to get the drive to boot up but it wouldn't. The jump from creating the drive and actually booting (at 3.00) isn't clear on this. However, I kept tapping F11 at power on and it read the USB drive...not sure if that's what one is meant to do but it worked for me in the end. One other clariification I typed a space between the -h -r -s though the narative doesn't say this the images did! 👍Thanks anyway and please, the foregoing is no criticism, it is to assist others that's all!

I did eveying as the tutorial said but as soon i clicked on 'hot migration' my laptop blue screened and now it doesn't detect my ssd. What do I do??

I uninstalled Edge a few weeks ago, and it's still there, cuz if you click the Temperature / news wicket, then open a news article, it opens Edge - regardless of if you've uninstalled

It did brick my computer, windows option is too risky, gladly i had restore point done i am 😠😡

I reckon my PSUs given out. Moved all the hardware to an old case and PSU (upgrading my pc and giving the little brother my old one) all of the hardware worked in the old configuration. Now it powers on but no display, tried a different cpu and GPU, just hope that the psu hasn't killed anything.

I accidently bought XMP ram when building my AMD system, I did not bother returning it because even though I got it from Micro Center and they would have easily done an exchange for me it is over an hour drive to get to my Micro Center and at the time it actually took the 6000mhz rating it was advertised to do. The problem I have though is every once in a while it will drop back down to 4800 and I wont find out for some time and then I have to go reset it again. It may be worth just selling off that ram and getting new ram that I know is compatible with my board and my AMD cpu, but I just dont have the funds to drop $100 or so just to make sure I am getting the speed on the box at this time. I have even tried manually adjusting all of the settings and ignoring expo and xmp auto settings but it still wont keep the settings. No stability issues or crashes it just chooses to randomly toss out my settings and go back to the default ddr5 settings. What is weird though is that the ram kit I got IS on my boards QVL.
