Had so for many years because I run a Video editing card that was popular starting around 2008 and only runs on Windows 7. Anyways..I consistently get fresh updates from Microsoft about every 3 or four days. I'd be happy to send you a screenshot of my update history . I just got a 69mb update a few days ago on 5-14-24. Ive been running Malwarebytes Premium antivirus on all rigs with no problem for years. Maybe it because I use Ultimate. But boasting that Windows 7 is dead..your WRONG!

after getting my new ASUS computer and starting it there where many updates that came through. But one driver kept popping up with the in ability to download and install, The solution was to turn off core isolation and I did but core isolation would not come on again. After being a geek for sometime I ran several spyware programs like Norton and Malwarebytes these I load first with any computer before any updates I allow. I wish I had seen this but I reset my PC saving my files but to get back at the beginning now I will have to put up with this popup saying driver can not install. If there was away to stop that message from popping up it would be really great to know how!

I was having issues with no image detected, even after doing everything. The only thing that worked was instead of using the back usb's of my motherboard. I used the front/top panel usb's. Worked like a charm.

Nice video Brian but mate I was caught before anything like this hack was apparent to me and I am now stuck with their account which is very annoying as I get lot of tedious messages to sign into that MS account.

What COA would one have if they purchased an Asus product (that is perfectly functional at the time of writing this) but the product serial number sticker was removed by the original owner (for unknown reasons) and has not been tampered with (opened/repaired). I have already asked Asus support and they have stated that without a valid serial number, if any problems do befall the product, I am just stuck. Asking this community because I am not aware. Trying to make everyone who do not have an account, regret it in the future, if they don't have their key saved on it. Same with extended support. It would not surprise me if it requires a Microsoft account to either buy or verify an extended support license key.

With all these shenanigans from MS, it's no wonder Linux user rates have climbed in the last 18 months. It will be interesting to see what the stats look like for Win 10/11 and Linux once it hits October 2025. ATM I'm mostly using Linux as even Win10 lately has been introducing bugs with basic operations and culling productively. I'm only logging into Windows sporadically for emails at present.

Thank you it worked for me. Just one thing. After preforming the process, replacing the SSD, booting, I had to resize the C drive to the maximum. I upgraded my drive from 1TB to 4TB.

It is time to migrate backups to external data storage where you can control your own encryption (if you know what you are doing) And I do not mean onedrive. If ms forces it on I migrate to linux. ps. bitlocker also slows down ssd's to a crawl, still faster than a hardrive but nowhere nvme speed.

They are going pay monthly evenually so they are working hard to close all holes that would let you run it without paying a monthly fee! I have been using linux as much as I can for when that day happens Ill know enought to fully switch. Mac OS is getting more and more viable for the software I can only run in windows which is most of your photo and video editing. Eveything else i can use linux.

This might make a bit more sense on mobile devices, though it should always be optional. On desktops this is barely ever a good option and companies that want or need additional security have an it department which takes care of this anyway. Most individuals will never need this, but many will run into problems because of this. Another stupid decision by Microsoft.
