For newcomers: the first two methods dont work - it fails, saying the drive size is too large. The third method, however, works like a charm.

Good video Brian. I only have 1 regular USB drive. It's 4 GB and has a copy of Windows 10 on it. For external storage I have 2 1TB NVMe M.2 drives in external cases plugged into the rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. They're super fast and great for doing daily backups.

watched a few video on how to do this, by far the best one. No pointless chattering that takes up more than half the video before getting to the point, 40 seconds in and the methods start to be shown. Preceise, to the point and straight forward. Also 3 different methods to choose from. Perfect video, why can't all How to videos be like this. FYI the 3rd method is probably the best for those who are not sure or confident about clicking stuff you're not use to or worry about deleting stuff you should not. Took me 2 mins if that. The three methods here no longer work, but I recently remembered another way this can be done. You can format a PART of a drive to FAT32, up to 8192MB (8GB) I think. Steps below: 1. Search up "Create and format hard disk partitions" in your search menu (aka Disk Management) 2. Find your drive (easiest way is to either look at the name or look at the capacity of it) 3. On the bottom, you'll likely see it's already been formatted to either exFAT or NTFS. Right click the 'volume' and press "Delete Volume". 4. You should now have unallocated space on the drive. Right click the unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume". 5. Set the simple volume size, in MB, to 8192MB (or lower). 6. Give it a letter. 7. Set the "File System" to FAT32 and keep the allocation unit size to default. Check "perform a quick format" and give it a memorable name. 8. Finish.

Life saver never had to deal with this kind of problem . Old ish flat tv and dvbt's don't recognize exfat at 64gb while the 32's same manufactor same model different capacity has fat32 as default with another absurd fact that the formatting option for 64's has no choice to select for fat32 . thanks! Before this video, I had converted it to exFAT not knowing that that was NOT FAT32...using any method did not work. I had to go back and convert it back to NTFS then used the last method and it worked...

Thanks for this video! On a Samsung 256 GB FIT: first I tried the software, got an error that the drive was in use by another process, I rebooted, same error. Then I used dos prompt, 99% formatted followed by 'cannot complete, drive too big for fat32". Then tried the software again, this time it worked and formatted it in seconds.

if you got a windows millenium pc laying around somewhere, you can use that to format fat32. millenium os is the last operating system that did formatted fat32 without going through command prompt.

Cheers dude! I'm in the process of hopefully reinstalling Windows 10 via USB and was getting frustrated with the blue Windows logo and the spinning dots not doing a thing. I think it was because my USB stick was NTFS. Let's hope this'll work! Edit: The first 2 options didn't work for me (option 1 said my drive was too big, option 2 didn't seem to understand what I typed, even though I made no errors) but the 3rd option worked SUPERFAST!
