I shall be flying first class from London to San Francisco in April. At the moment I;m torn between BA, Lufthansa and Air France. I'd be grateful for any advice.

The first time I flew on a 747, a PA flight from LHR to IAD in 1973, the flight attendant made an announcement that we could expect to hear quite a bit of noise when the gear came up, since a lot of people had not flown on a 747 before at that time. Looks like nothing much has changed!

+Owen „212“ Castelli Well, when flying First Class, you should definitely try their 787 - they found a very good compromise between the restricted space on a "standard" airliner and the vast amount of storage space on the A380.

I flew in Seat 2k in BA First from Miami. I felt the seat and cabin cramped for a First Class accommodation. If you consider Singapore, Cathay or even American airlines the cabin and seat are much more comfortable. The service was very attentive, however I was expecting a more comfortable flight, especially in BA First

Bigbiceps20 Yeah, the seat space is the main problem on BA's first class (at least on planes other than the A380). While the cabin doesn't feel too cramped in row 2, rows 3 and 4 are really too tight for a modern first class product. If you have the chance, try BA's A380 next, it's really much more spacious than the 747 (and the 777, probably). There, even the buddy seat is wide enough to actually be used.

***** Well, I do.. and besides, I wouldn't consider using someone else's material (whether copyrighted or not) to make money (yep, the re-uploaded video had monetarization enabled) to be "fair use". If your definition were correct, KZbin wouldn't have removed the video after a complaint had been filed. And, flame me or not, I'm glad that people who share the same hobbies are attentive enough to alert their fellows of possible infringements.

I enjoyed the video, great quality. I feel like you expected too much. The comment about the hot towel....it's a hot flannel just to wipe your hands and refresh your face maybe, it really can't get anymore basic than that and wasn't worth moaning about..the storage is a bit tight, but truly just fold up anything you need and pop it in the overhead locker. The food looked delicious and I loved your commentary. The while dimming of the cabin was to give you ample rest to feel refreshed when you arrive in London, the whole time zone moaning again was so silly. Overall thumbs up for me. Great video.

I travel a couple of times each year on B.A. and always use Club World (Business) From what I've observed on this and other videos I don't think the HUGE hike in price for lst. class is in any way worth it. No complaints about Business, very comfortable seat (reclines to become a bed as in lst) excellent food and overall very good service. Certainly worth the extra over unbearable economy on a long haul flight.

Thanks you for uploading the insight., Frankly it didn't strike me as very first class at all. My interpretation of that cabin layout was that half the seats faced backwards ?? a nonsense that passengers hated forty years ago when I was cabin-crew with BA and still mostly do , For what first: costs over and above business class; I couldn't see any advantage ??, again thanks for posting - cheers - John = Perth Au

+John Skiggs Actually, more than half of the seats in the business class ("Club World") cabin face backwards. Not in First Class, but space is quite restricted here. They did improve this on their main-deck A380 F cabin, and have found a very good compromise on thei 787.

All smoke detectors contain radioactive substances. They contain alpha particles called americium-241. These particles are harmless however because they have a very low penetration power and are stopped by a few centimeters of air. Great review by the way!

People whinge on and on about crying babies on a plane. In my opinion they are only being babies and they will eventually stop when their ears settle and they sleep. Or the parents dose them up on kiddie antihistamine. What really bothers me is people coughing and sneezing on a plane, being In a confined space with poor air flow for hours and hours and hours and the coughing and the sneezing and the sputtering.....

I think all smoke detectors have some radioactive material in them

Do you have any education in physics ;) Most, if not all smoke detectors use some form of alpha/beta radiation. ;) it's function is to travel across a gap to complete a circuit, smoke will absorb the radiation and therefore break the circuit causing an alarm to ring.

Hopefully it was not an "insecticide" that was sprayed in the cabin ,it should have been an anti microbial....as evidenced by the woman coughing throughout the flight. Give that woman a mask! ...unless her "special" viruses know the difference between coach and first class....never to be caught with those lower classes bugs!
