Some useful information here about the size and dimensions. I've got the Hilander hawk bivvy bag. The British army bivvy bag looks a lot bigger though.

Great video mate. I use a British Army bivy bag and basha and MMS sleeping sytem when wild camping...great pieces of kit...not the lightest but great value and will last for years.

Some good tips there Ally. I've used a number of bivvy bags over the years, I'm currently using the Alpkit Hunka bivvy bag, as it comes in at around 500g less than the issue one. It's not as wide at the opening, and it isn't goretex, but it does the job.

You definately should , great bit of kit in my opinion and no condensation issues like other branded bags ive heard of , maybe because its so wide at the top and lets the air flow through easier 👍🏻🏕

I love my Canadian Army bivy bags! The first ones were nearly identical to your green British but the last generation (still green) before they went to CADPAT they added a waterproof zipper. I have one of each and love them.

Not seen them but wary of zippers in case they snap or break on you , at leaat with a drawstring , its replaceable on the move easy

@@OUTDOORALLY oh I agree, although it did survive grunts before me and I haven't had an issue with it or the zips on the US bivy. My Carinthia made Belgian hoop bivy (same as the Dutch but in the odd Belgian camo) seems to be okay as well but the least robust of them all. Yes, I love bivy bags of all sorts!

Never had any condensation issues with it that i can remember , not as lightweight or small as others but for performance its hard to fault 👍🏻🏕

bloody great piece of kit. Woke up in stream in the lakes in one, slept on Mont Blanc, up to 5500 meters in South America, pissing rain in Dartmoor. Never had any leaks of condensation or leaks. Used both down and synthetic bags with no problems. Yes it’s heavier, but they are roomy and simple. Not to mention super cheap, well worth a punt.
