Study... - Indian Nepalese Can join British Gurkhas provided you have Nepalese citizenship and passport. Or you can come to UK as student and join British Gora Paltan. Selection is easier that way. - Swimming is not compulsory. Tara aako ramro. Take lessons if possible. - Gurkhali Paltan :- - 1RGR and 2 RGR ( take turns in Brunei and Folkestone UK every 3/4 years). - Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment(QOGLR) based in Aldershot - Queens Gurkha Signals (Squadrons in Bramcote, York, Stafford Bulford, small contingents in Nepal, Brunei, Sandhurst, Hereford and Blandford) -Queens Gurkha Engineers based in Maidstone, Kent - Brigade Band in Folkestone -Gurkha Staff and Personnel Support (GSPS) - Co located with other Gurkha Paltan in small numbers Who do clerical jobs. Salary - all depends on how long you have served and the rank you are. To simplify... Sipahi who has been in 1 year earns around Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand. Captain who has served about 22 years earns about Rs 4.5 lakh plus ( this is just rough Idea) I hope it answers few of the questions...
