Wow! No answer to you. I know nothing about the RMP but may be I can help you with your question. Like other units in Airborne Forces, attached or seconded to them, RMPs can put themselves forward to ABF ergo attending and successfully completing. All Arms P Company. But please understand that P Company is a requirement for ABF, the only requirement for attending a course at No 1PTS is that the individual is from a Sponsoring unit or has a special requirement to Parachute... PTS is obliged to train whoever a sponsoring unit has put forward for that requirement or received special dispensation to receive that training from either the MOD or OC PTS...

I'm RMP, yes there's lot of women in the RMP. There are plenty of women that go and do CP, the physical standards are still the same so you need to be pretty fit but it's not anything that isn't achievable. I know a lot of female rmp that have done CP have been snapped up by civvie contractors once they got out as they're really sought after.

Do you want a frontline role? If so infantry. Do you want a trade? Royal engineers , signals etc. Like the other lads said what you want out of the army. Make sure you make the decision don’t let anyone persuade you.

Is there Fulltime regular RMP's based in Northern Ireland or has that been disbanded. Also just a question regarding the Barb test, I have gotten high enough at assessment for RMP I am in two minds between infintry and RMP, if I was to take infintry and do the 4 year contract could I then transfer to be an RMP and would your barb score stay with you throughout your career or would it require a new one. If your BARB score is high enough for the RMP, DO NOT join the infantry. They are worlds apart.

I'm RMP, for my sins. Once you get to unit, if you're fit and let your chain of command known you're interested, you'll usually just get put into the course for it. Or you can put a letter in for it - it's not a hard course to get on there's a lot of spots.
