I can tell you now because of Gurkha veterans in Derby I now know enough Nepali and know about their special different food to appreciate it. I went to Nepal last year and stayed with one at his house with him and his family in Kathmandu before going west to Pokhara. Ive seen how high they run and even their winter is a good as our summers. That was after befriending them and seeing them on security where I worked for just over a year. The minority took in the majority. They love the UK fiercely and also Nepal, look around you where Nepalis have settled, they fly the Nepali flag next to the country they moved to with so much pride. I do not think Ive seen this before. They including other Nepalis are so happy I love their country, traditions and food! They are actively happy and welcoming for you to come to their country and enjoy it. Its a tough country and hard compared to the UK, but somehow it all works a bit crazy but you will see amazing things and eat great fresh food and breathe fresh air. Thulo samman Gurkha haru ko laggi, ma Nepal miss garchu

In 2013, I attempted to join the British Army. I successfully passed the regional selection but, unfortunately, couldn’t make it to the central selection. In 2014, during my final attempt, I managed to reach the central selection stage, but my journey ended there due to the presence of blood pigments in my urine. It was one of the saddest and most difficult moments of my life. At the time, I was a high school science student, and this setback caused me to lose both my studies and my dream of joining the army. My father had invested a significant amount in my training at a pre-army physical training center, where I worked tirelessly to prepare. However, despite all the effort, I couldn’t achieve the result we had hoped for. Looking back, I sometimes wonder how different my life might have been if I had continued my studies instead of pursuing the military path. I was a good student, and my academic performance was excellent. Yet, the allure of the legacy, lifestyle, and respect that comes with being selected for the British Army was something I couldn’t resist. This decision drastically changed my life. Today, I am working in Kuwait 🇰🇼, always hoping for better days ahead. To the young boys preparing to join the military, I want to share a piece of advice: while you strive for your dream, make sure you don’t compromise your education. Consider choosing relatively easier fields, such as management or hotel management (HM), as a backup plan. In case you don’t make it to the army, having an educational foundation can open doors to studying abroad or even joining officer cadet programs in the Nepal Police or Army.

Doko races were previously conducted with a weight limit of 34 kg over a distance of 4 km on an uphill course. However, after 2005, the weight limit was reduced to 26 kg and the distance was increased to 6 km.

Nepali people don't join British army for proud, it is only for the better life and salary, It is very shame as a Nepali Government that their citizen fight for other other country, but no one wanted to change it, In the history they are not treated equally and paid equal salary, most of the time deployed in front line, and they are from only 4 cast because they are the four incent pure soul who do not think twice to obey order, yet government ignore these exploitations of the citizen

Seriously dude?? Read history since when Nepalese people started The Gurkha Regiment for British and India. Was the salary and living style same as now for them ? Or is it because of their sacrifices???

@@MyAsiz right now it is for money. Guys even strive for it to get the girl they love. It is for the family and a girl of their choice. Which all comes to what ?MONEY .

@@MyAsiz Hahaa, you read history seriously? The first batches of gurkhas were captured and sent by the Nepalese Government, there was nothing like recruitment. The government used to send Nepalese guys as per treaty. Later after many years it became a trend and recruitment started when there became more applicants. Nowadays, it may be proud for some guys but not all, most of them are for securing their future. For me there is no difference between a Nepalese guy joining the British Army and another guy working in the Gulf. The only thing is gurkhas get social welfare like health care and insurance for them and their family but they have definitely more risks. Our country needs these guys to live for our country, and Britishers need our guys to die for their country. It is a simple brother, you don't need to quote the history that you are unaware of.

Britain has been exploiting Nepali British Army for 200 years with less money and facilities. Is there democracy in your country?

Where have you got that information 😂 we have equal pay, equal rights and equal facilities - unfortunately the Gurkha’s that finished service for 1996 are not entitled to the full British Army pension yet.

The ones in Russia are just some random Nepalese. It’s the relentless training, the camaraderie, the discipline instilled through rigorous drills, and the unbreakable bonds formed through shared hardships that truly define a Gurkha soldier. Being a Gurkha is a brand in itself which you can’t get it joining the Russians.
